💙 Texas rivers need us more than ever.
This summer’s flooding hit our campgrounds & outfitters hard. Between the flooding and the lingering hesitation from visitors, some have seen their income drop by 50% or more, even if they weren’t directly flooded. But the water is flowing, the skies are clear, and they’re ready for us to come back!🌞💦
We left our beautiful San Marcos River at SonsRiverRanch.com to visit the Nueces River at Chalk Bluff chalkbluffriverresort.com this past weekend to give that area our support…and WOW… breathtaking views & kayaking bliss! 🚣♂️
📅 Let’s rally for our Texas rivers outfitters. We need to give them all our support right now so they can make it through winter and be around next year. Tag your family and crew & make it happen! 🙌

@ethanhawke expressing his love for Big Bend in “Deep in the Heart 2: Texas Rivers.”
Just the names of the Rio Grande’s Canyons stirs the imaginations for Texans who crave adventure.
Colorado. Santa Elena. Mariscal. Boquillas, and the rugged Lower Canyons.
The river connects millions of acres of conserved land on both sides of the border and is home to our largest state park, national park, and wildlife management area. These vast public lands are witnessing incredible rewilding events. Desert Bighorn have been reintroduced to its canyons, Black Bears are crossing the Rio Grande and returning to Texas, landowners on both sides of the border have released bison and elk, and mountain lions find refuge in protected canyons.
For nearly 200 miles, the Rio Grande is so special that Congress gave it federal protection as a Wild and Scenic River to preserve its natural wonder.
The Rio Grande unites our greatest hope for conserving large public lands for every Texan to experience wildlife, dark skies, and wild places long into the future. But that hope... is threatened.

Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand why somebody would never want to step foot in Texas rivers now that they fully understand the power of them or if they lost somebody they loved in them.
We’ve personally experienced two flash floods ourselves and know them all too well from living here
I get flashbacks anytime I see the San
Marcos River or go to Wimberley. Anytime I’m in the river I think about it, you can’t not think about it when you look around (at anytime, not just now) you see everything that it has carved out, boulders it’s moved, trees it’s shaped. We choose to still love and go to the river because we see it as a place of healing and reset. We unplug and spend time with our family, reconnect and appreciate the life that we have while we have it. Don’t stop praying for Texas yall 💔#texas #texasflood #guadaluperiver

Texas rivers are more than just beautiful. They’re also a key source for our drinking water.

Some of our favorite memories have been made on the Texas rivers.
Laying in the sun.
Building water shoots for the tubes.
Fly fishing.
Swimming in cold water while the hot sun beats down.
Peace. Quiet. Joy.
These are the moments that stay with you.
Not the busy days… the intentional ones.
Take your family on adventures.
Slow down. Laugh more.
Make memories that outlive you.
Because legacy isn’t what you leave for your family…
it’s what you build with them.
