Bill 54 would raise fares for people who rely on TheBus every day. At a time when so many families are already stretched thin, this proposal moves us in the wrong direction. If you oppose the bus fare increase, now is the time to speak up. Submitting testimony is quick, easy, and makes a real difference. Let City Council know where you stand on this important issue!

HOLO on TheBus and Skyline, Honolulu’s newest mode of transportation from Kualaka‘i to Hālawa.  Free rides are available with your valid HOLO card starting Saturday, July 1st, through Tuesday, July 4th (no balance is needed on the HOLO card for the free rides). Similar to riding TheBus with a HOLO card, riders will need to “tap” their cards on the HOLO card reader.  Get a HOLO card at the fare gates at the entrance of each station.  After the free ride period, you’ll need to have a valid HOLO card with funds.  HOLO card vending kiosks will also be located next to the fare gates that accept coins, cash, and credit/debit cards.  You can also head to holocard.net make a profile and add funds from your computer or cell phone! A single tap at the fare gate will allow riders to enter the station to board the next available train. Riders will be charged based on their HOLO card type, and will be given a transfer, good for 2.5 hours after the first tap. These transfers can be used to board a bus, or another train without being charged, if used within the 2.5 hours.
