There’s a new restaurant in Mumbai that will make you forget the rush, madness and traffic of this city. Welcome to The Conservatory! @theconservatory.in Located in Juhu, it’s an ideal place for brunch and is by restauranteur Suren Joshi @mr.surenjoshi behind the popular Joshi House @joshihouse in Bandra. Green, warm, earthy tones and a glass ceiling where the sun filters in - you’ve not seen a place like this before in Mumbai - at least I had not. Where else can you find mango, jamun and mulberry trees in the Al fresco area. The light wood furniture blends in easily with the chic decor. I can just imagine how beautiful it will be when it rains and at sunset. The menu is a mix of Asian and European cuisines. There are sliders, pizzas, tacos, salads, ceviche and seafood. The Singaporean Crab in a soft Mantou bun with spicy aioli is what I relished the most. Chicken Cafreal Poie was a filling and delicious sandwich. Crab Khaari was quite good. Their choice of the Woodfire pizzas is quite wide - ranging from egg and cheese pide, Goan Chorizo to the classic pepperoni. There are more options in small plates than mains. But this menu is expanding and soon they will have a breakfast menu too. The cocktails are interesting too.
