Was sich anhört wie eine Einkaufsliste für den Wochenmarkt, ist das, was auf dem Schulacker der Grundschule Martinszell im bayerischen Landkreis Oberallgäu wächst. Insgesamt 29 verschiedene Sorten Gemüse verteilt auf 12 Beete, sind heute der Stoff im Fach Heimat- und Sachunterricht, HSU. Die Kinder der dritten Klasse sind mit Feuereifer dabei, Unkraut zu jäten, hier und da ein paar Nacktschnecken zu entfernen und an einigen Stellen bereits die zweite Pflanzung vorzunehmen. Zusammen mit Acker e. V. unterstützt die Rapunzel Eine Welt Bio Stiftung das Schulgarten-Projekt mit dem Gedanken Natur, Soziales und Gesundheit miteinander zu verbinden. 💚 Cucumbers, tomatoes, celery, carrots, fennel and much more. What sounds like a shopping list for the market is actually what grows on the school field at Martinszell elementary school in the Bavarian district of Oberallgäu. A total of 29 different types of vegetables, spread over 12 beds, are the subject of today’s home and science lessons. The children of the third grade are eagerly weeding, removing a few slugs here and there and already planting the second crop in some places. Together with Acker e. South Africa, what was that magic? Penguins waddling like they owned the place (they did), ostriches casually strutting past stop signs, baboons blocking roads like moody traffic cops, and me absolutely delighted by all of it. In Franschhoek, it was farm-to-table everything meals! so golden I wanted to frame them, vegetables with actual personality, and the juiciest plums picked straight from the tree, still warm from the sun. Possibly the best I’ve ever had. There were French glasshouse meals that felt like scenes from a perfectly lit ad, and “Fish on the Rocks” where the view unapologetically casual. Then came Wolfgat… part foraging fantasy, part masterclass in flavor, with ingredients I couldn’t pronounce but will dream about forever. Add a West Coast beach house with sounds of the Atlantic, and sunsets that melted into the horizon. All that and you’ve got a reel I almost didn’t want to post, just so I could keep it a little longer. But here it is. One last reel.
