A small object… carrying millions of dreams. As part of Artemis II, over 5.6 million names from around the world are traveling to the Moon. These names were submitted through NASA’s “Send Your Name” campaign and stored inside “Rise,” a zero-gravity indicator created by a young student. This mission isn’t just about astronauts—it carries a piece of humanity with it. Your name. Our journey. Follow for real space missions 🚀 Would you send your name to space? 👀 #artemis #nasa #space #moon #exploration
Just days away from the launch of Artemis II, the crew unveiled the zero-g indicator that will be used onboard during the mission, a plushy Moon named Rise! The toy, which are used to indicate weightless in the cabin, was designed by eight year old Lucas Ye from California. The crew also added an SD card into Rise which contains the names of the 5.6 million people who signed up to have their names aboard.
We’re well into the #artemis II mission, but did you see one of the last tasks the four astronauts had to check off their list ahead of launch? 🃏It’s a long standing tradition!
Send your name to the Moon with the Artemis II crew! With less than one week to go until the launch attempt, time is runnng out to add your name to join the Artemis II crew on their 10-day mission around the Moon. More than 5 million people have signed up to add their name to an SD card that will fly inside the Orion spacecraft. Head to go.nasa.gov/artemisnames to add yours!
Before the historic launch of Artemis II, the astronauts were seen playing cards—but this wasn’t just for fun. It’s actually a long-standing tradition among astronauts to relax and bond before heading into space. Moments like these help reduce stress, build team trust, and bring a sense of normalcy before an intense mission. Space travel demands not just technical excellence but also strong mental strength, and simple activities like playing cards help the crew stay calm and connected. It’s a reminder that even on the brink of a journey to the Moon, astronauts are human too—sharing laughter before making history. 🚀 #artemis #nasa #moon #rocket #spacex
Yall ready for the Artemis 2 launch? Let’s go!!!! #Artemis2 #flymetothemoon🌙
I’ve always wanted to touch the stars, but that’s not in the cards for me. So I watch. I watch in awe as they touch the sky for us. The Artemis II is a historic flyby mission to the moon, and the first of its kind in over 50 years. It is a ten-day mission carrying NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen. #artemisii #space #nasa #touchthestars
To the Moon and back—for all of us. 🌕✨ The crew of Artemis II isn’t just carrying themselves into the stars; they’re carrying the hopes, dreams, and daring spirit of every person on Earth. After half a century, we are finally heading back to the Moon, proving that when we work together, the sky isn’t a limit—it’s just the beginning. Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy: We are watching, we are cheering, and we are going with you. 🚀❤️ #Artemis #MoonMission #nextgeneration#SpaceExploration #ahdus🖤🪐
A lil Artemis throwback to the crew announcement (and some Canadian pride!) because it LAUNCHEDDDD 🚀🥳 #artemis #artemislaunch #artemisii #canadianspaceagency #nasa
Your Name is Going to Space! 🚀🌕 History is being made this month! As we gear up for the April 2026 launch of Artemis II, NASA just confirmed that 5.7 million names are officially on board the Orion spacecraft. 🛰️ But here’s the coolest part: your name isn't just tucked away in a computer—it’s actually riding inside "Rise," the mission's official zero-gravity indicator plush toy! The crew personally zipped the microSD chip into the plushie's pocket before sealing the hatch. 🧸✨ The Mission Brief: The Crew: 4 astronauts heading where no human has gone in over 50 years. The Cargo: 5.7 million names from across the globe. The Journey: A 10-day high-stakes slingshot around the far side of the Moon. The Launch: Scheduled for April 2026. This is the closest most of us will ever get to lunar orbit (for now!). If you signed up for NASA’s "Send Your Name" campaign, you are officially part of the manifest. 🎟️ Did you get your boarding pass in time? Drop a "🌕" in the comments if your name is currently sitting on the launchpad! #astronomy #artemis #nasa #artemisii #spaceexploration moonmission orion stargazing 2026 sciencefacts
#WATCH!!!! Artemis 2 crew explains the difficulty of sleeping during their mission to the Moon.🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Question: “What does sleeping even look like?” Answer: “It’s actually sorta comical. Christina has been sleeping heads down in the middle of the vehicle, kinda like a bat suspended from our docking tunnel.”
Wow what a first 24 hours for Artemis II! Here’s a recap plus a bonus start to day 2 on site at Johnson Space Center for the translunar injection burn which propels the spacecraft out of Earth orbit on a path to the Moon.🌖 Image and video credits: NASA #artemis #nasa #artemisii #space
