Every chapter of #TheLook captures a treasured part of my story, filled with the choices, lessons, and looks that have shaped who I am today. But this book captures more than just my own journey — it also shares the stories of my talented team made up of @meredithkoop, @carlraymua, @yenedamtew, and @kitchentalkwithnjeri. The Look is a reminder of how far we’ve come and why it’s so important to make sure everyone can see themselves represented in fashion and style. It was so special to hold the finished book in my hands for the very first time, and I can’t wait for it to be in yours on November 4.

Before you dive into my new book, The Look, I want to lift up those who don’t get enough of the credit they deserve. To all of the people behind the scenes of fashion and beauty who use their expert hands and creative gifts to make us feel our best. You sit behind machines, hemming and beading; you stand on your feet for hours, braiding, locking, twisting, cutting, and coloring; you focus intently as you meticulously pluck and wax, as you contour and highlight. Your work is a gift that does not go unnoticed, one that takes many forms. A compliment we receive. A jolt of electricity we feel from a mirror looking back at us.
