A halal meat shop with a takeout menu? That’s exactly what The Meathead in Scarborough got up to last month, and it’s already on Uber Eats. We got to try the whole menu, from sliders and nachos to hot dogs and even a Halifax-style donair. My favourites had to be the Montreal smoked meat slider, the Rockin’ Reuben slider, their chili, and this classic New York deli-style coleslaw. You could taste the intention behind each ingredient, and the love you only feel in a family-owned business. Proof that when a place already specializes in great meat… the food usually speaks for itself. We’re so glad this spot is on our radar now, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for them. I've tried some deli smoked meats in Toronto, and this one's near the top. It's the best I've had recently, with a great balance of flavor and texture. The only minor complaint is that it was slightly dry - a bit more moisture would've made it perfect.
