I HUNG WITH @ellendegeneres And yes… I also got the worst selfie in history 😂 Here’s how it went down 👇🏻 The red carpet was chaos. And there she was ELLEN in a tux with Portia on her arm. “OMG I have no chance,” I thought. NEXT MINUTE… We caught eyes. I yelled, “Ellen! Let’s take a selfie!” She came straight over… “Great outfit,” she said. “What do you play?” We both laughed. I fumbled through an answer. I was wearing a rugby kit 😆🫣 that my radio station made me wear… And then we took this iconic, blurry, godawful selfie. But holy shit… I DID IT. What got me that moment? I didn’t play it safe. I wore my local NRL footy colours to the bloody red carpet. While everyone else was in gowns and glam, I was in short shorts and a jersey…shitting myself, but committed. Backstory… My radio show had sent me to Melbourne to try get the only interview with Ellen. There were thirsty radio peeps everywhere trying to do the same. So with my listeners, we hatched a plan… Stand out.. Get noticed. And it worked. The next day, I was on radio shows around the country talking about the worst selfie ever… and the fact I was the only one who got the interview.
