Devī (The Sanskrit word for “Goddess”) In celebration of Women’s History Month and Chaitra Navratri, the Sarod Trilogy—Amjad Ali Khan with his sons Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash—present Devī, a musical offering honoring the divine feminine energy. Joined by special guests Shane Shanahan and Vivek Pandya, the evening explores ragas inspired by the many forms of the goddess—embodying wisdom, strength, compassion, and grace. As Amjad Ali Khan reflects, music transcends barriers like a cosmic force. Like air, water, flowers, and color, it belongs to everyone. Through this spirit of unity and reverence, Devī celebrates the universal connection that music creates—honoring the divine feminine presence within sound itself. Krasnoff Theater, Tilles Center for the Performing Arts Sunday, March 29 | 6 PM Presented by Indo-American Arts Council & Tilles Center for the Performing Arts Concert programmed by Sneh Arts

What happens when two of Urdu literature’s sharpest minds—Ismat Chughtai and Saadat Hasan Manto—meet for the first time? At the Sufi Heritage Festival (@sufiheritagefestival) powered by Aadyam Handwoven, Saumya Kulshreshtha (@saumyakul) and Buland Himalay (@buland.himalay) present Manto Aur Ismat: Mere Dushman, Mere Dost, inspired by Ismat’s essay on their friendship. Blending storytelling and music, the performance revisits their uncompromising voices through works like Lihaaf and Thanda Gosht. Presented on the Bebaak stage curated by Aadyam Handwoven, the piece reflects the spirit of bebaak expression—much like Manto and Ismat themselves, whose fearless writing challenged social norms. Their rebellious honesty resonates with the stage’s vision of bold, contemporary voices engaging tradition with candour and experimentation. The Sufi Heritage Festival is brought to life by Yasmin Kidwai (@yasminkidwai) & Himanshu Anand (@himanshuanand), and we remain grateful to them for believing in us and providing a platform to present our voices. Aadyam Handwoven believes that culture is not confined to one form of art—it is an amalgamation of expressions. #CultureBeyondTextiles was born out of this philosophy, a celebration of the many facets of Indian heritage. Through this initiative, Aadyam extends its reach beyond textiles to embrace music, dance, literature, food and other art forms that share the same ethos of preservation and storytelling. It is a reminder that culture is not static but a living, breathing entity that evolves with time, always anchored in its roots. Ustad Murad Ali Khan (@muradalikhan), the celebrated sarangi virtuoso, leads the Saurang Ensemble in a rare musical gathering of masters. Through “Sada-e-Sufi”, the ensemble weaves sarangi harmonies, percussion, vocals, and the expressive Kathak of Mahua Shankar(@mahuashankar) into a meditative journey. Presented on the ‘Bebaak stage’ of the Sufi Heritage Festival (@sufiheritagefestival) co-curated and powered by Aadyam Handwoven, Sada-e-Sufi felt like a collective conversation—between artists, forms, and Sufi devotion. This is what Bebaak is about—bringing together different voices, while staying grounded in where they come from. The ensemble itself reflects a strong classical lineage, with Murad Ali Khan continuing a long-standing sarangi tradition and working closely with his students and collaborators.
