Sometimes the simplest things work the best.
A ball ⚾️
A little space.
And 15 minutes of uninterrupted play.
No screens.
No complicated setup.
Just movement, laughter, and connection. ❤️
Our toddlers don’t always need more stimulation —
sometimes they just need an outlet for their energy.
And the best part?
It builds coordination, focus, and confidence… while feeling like pure fun.
Simple play > screen time. Every time.

✨ “Kok bisa ya anak tiba-tiba suka mukul… padahal nggak pernah diajarin?”
Tenang Moms, ini normal banget di fase toddler — dan ada penjelasan ilmiahnya! 💛
👶✨ 1. Anak belum bisa mengungkapkan emosi dengan kata-kata
Menurut Dr. Tovah Klein, PhD (Director of Barnard College Center for Toddler Development), toddler sering menunjukkan perilaku agresif karena belum memiliki kemampuan bahasa untuk mengekspresikan frustrasi atau keinginannya.
Makanya tangannya “jalan duluan” 😆
🧠✨ 2. Kontrol diri mereka masih berkembang
Menurut American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), bagian otak prefrontal cortex yang mengatur kontrol impuls baru matang di usia akhir remaja, jadi toddler sangat wajar impulsif—termasuk memukul saat kesal atau terlalu semangat.
❤️✨ 3. Anak sedang belajar memahami sebab-akibat
Menurut Dr. Elizabeth Berger, Child Psychiatrist, toddler suka memukul benda/ boneka/ orang karena ingin melihat respon yang muncul. Ini bagian dari eksplorasi sosial yang normal.
✔️ Ajari cara mengekspresikan emosi: “Kalau marah, bilang ‘nggak mau’ ya.”
✔️ Beri contoh respon yang lembut tapi tegas.
✔️ Sediakan aktivitas yang menyalurkan energi: lompat, dorong, tarik, memanjat.
✔️ Validasi perasaan mereka: “Kamu kesal ya? Bunda bantu, yuk.”
✨ Ingat Moms, toddler bukan “nakal”. Mereka lagi belajar memahami dunia dan tubuhnya.
Tugas kita adalah mendampingi dengan kesabaran & kasih sayang 🧡

A phone can stop a tantrum. But it can't teach a child how to cope.
(screen time, toddler development, parenting tips, emotional regulation, speech delay, child development, autism awareness, positive parenting)
The first few years of a child’s life are the foundation of lifelong learning and development. Identifying developmental needs early can make a significant difference in a child’s future.
The Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development is one of the world’s most trusted and scientifically validated developmental assessment tools for infants and toddlers from 1 to 42 months of age. It provides a comprehensive evaluation of cognitive, language, motor, social-emotional, and adaptive developmental skills, helping clinicians understand a child’s developmental strengths and areas that may need support.
An accurate developmental assessment allows for early identification of developmental delays and helps create individualized intervention plans based on each child’s unique needs.
At Creative Minds, we believe that every child deserves an evidence-based assessment before intervention begins. Because when assessment is accurate, intervention becomes purposeful, giving every child the opportunity to achieve their fullest developmental potential.

Some days I feel guilty that I have not been able to play, chat, or go out and about with my toddler as much as I would like with this pregnancy.
As much as I would love to be soaking in every day with just the 2 of us before baby sis arrives, the reality is, that a lot of days look like this.
But then, I realize how independent these forced rest days have made her- from playtime, to clean up time, to dressing skills, to safety walking together.
It’s bitter sweet and I know it will serve us well.
This is part 3 of the Welcoming a New Baby series.

😤✨ Tantrum Management: What Actually Helps
Tantrums are a normal part of toddler development — they’re not “naughty,” they’re overwhelmed. Here’s how to support them while keeping your own sanity, too.
🧠 Why tantrums happen
• Their brain can feel big emotions, but can’t yet control them
• Language skills are still developing
• Transitions and frustration feel huge at this age
✔️ What you can do in the moment
• Stay close and calm — your calm helps their brain settle
• Use simple phrases: “You’re safe. I’m here.”
• Reduce stimulation: lights down, fewer words, gentle presence
• Keep them safe but avoid restraining unless necessary
🛠️ What helps prevent tantrums
• Give choices: “Red cup or blue cup?”
• Warn before transitions: “Two more minutes, then bath.”
• Keep snacks, naps, and routines predictable
• Offer chances for independence when possible
🚨 When to worry
• Tantrums last more than 30 minutes regularly
• Happen multiple times daily with aggression towards others
• Paediatric patient doesn’t recover between episodes
✨ Parent tip: Your child learns emotional regulation by borrowing your calm. Tantrums don’t mean you’re doing anything wrong — they mean they’re learning.
