College Tip 868: If you’re a transfer student going to a new campus.. #college #collegetips #transfer #advice #helpmeharlan #transferstudent #university
If you want to study in America for your bachelor’s degree but you don’t have the money, then you need to hear about these colleges and universities that can give you a full scholarship in order to attend. They accept international transfer students and guarantee that they will meet 100% of your demonstrated financial needs to come study in America. This means they could give you a full scholarship to study if you come from a very poor background. Make sure you apply to these schools. Many of them are also test-optional, meaning they don’t require you to take the SAT or ACT. #StudylnUSA #InternationalStudent #Scholarships #studyabroad #transferstudent

Don’t over complicate it.
The transfer process from community college can feel so overwhelming, but once you create an Ed Plan and understand that courses fall into 3 main categories, it’ll feel like a piece of cake!
It’s important that you don’t solely rely on counselors because, while they’re amazing resources, they can sometimes give outdated or conflicting information. Always do your own research as well!

Being a transfer is not for the weak…
1) It’ll feel like you’re a freshman a lot of the time at first. Everything feels so new and exciting, but the difference is that you have the responsibilities of an upperclassman 😅
2) The majority of people that are interviewing/ auditioning for clubs are freshman, so you’ll be one of or the only upperclassman joining along with them. Keep in mind: most clubs are pretty competitive.
3) There are a decently amount of friend groups that will already be formed because they’ve been together since freshman year. I recommend to put yourself out there as much as possible!!
4) I can’t express this enough… It’s very important to start off with a good GPA of your first semester. Especially because they don’t count the GPA from your first school, and Cornell classes are significantly harder.
5) expect an adjustment period with academics, and don’t be too hard on urself but don’t slack off either
6) there will always be parties, and events to go to pretty much every day or every other day, so you have to set aside intentional time to study
7) some clubs here get genuinely p!ssed off if you decide that you wanna leave or not be part of the club anymore.😃 just try to get a good vibe check before you commit.
8) Apply to study abroad! Find out as early as possible about the opportunities and apply on time. Pretty much everyone who does this has an amazing time
9) go out of your way to make a connections with professors in your major! Other people had the opportunity to be here for longer and start that process. You NEED those connections for future recommendation letters.
10) there might be times where you wonder how people handle so much… just remember that people at Cornell are over achievers! So be patient with yourself, and you’ll eventually be able to better your time management skills.

365 Days of me— Day 18
It still feels unreal. People told me my Pakistani education wouldn’t count, that I’d have to repeat everything. The journey was long and exhausting — but hard work pays off.
Don’t quit just because others don’t see your vision. Let the results explain it later 🤍
