Headlines don’t equal strategy. Our CIO Matt Rice joined @fox32chicago to discuss the proposed federal retirement accounts and what they could mean for Americans. Key point: There are still more questions than answers — especially around implementation, funding, and congressional approval. Meanwhile, the real issue remains the same: Many Americans are underprepared for retirement. At Goldstone, we stay on the pulse of legislative changes so we can evaluate how tax law, retirement rules, and policy shifts may affect your long-term income plan. → Watch the full discussion at the link in bio. #RetirementStrategy #TaxPlanning #RetirementSavings #WealthPlanning #ChicagoNews

The government just signaled the end of the last big tax shelter in the UK. 🇬🇧📉 I looked at the data for the 2027/28 tax year, and if you have been dutifully saving into a pension for 30 years, you need to read the fine print. From April 2027, unused pension pots will no longer pass outside of your estate. They are being pulled directly into the inheritance tax net, meaning they could be slapped with a 40% tax bill before your family sees a penny. The logic from the Treasury? They want to discourage people from using pensions as “wealth transfer vehicles” and force them to be used for retirement instead. But here is the reality for the average saver: If you die after age 75, your family could face “double taxation.” First, the pot is hit with 40% IHT. Then, when your beneficiaries draw that money out, they pay income tax at their marginal rate. For some, this could mean an effective tax rate of up to 67%. Inheritance tax revenue is already on a steady grind higher, forecast to surge from £8.4 billion today to over £14 billion by 2030. By the end of the decade, the proportion of deaths subject to IHT is expected to nearly double to 9.5%. As an older brother bit of advice: The rules of the game are changing while you are on the pitch. If the government can move the goalposts on your pension, you need to diversify where your legacy is held. Property remains one of the few assets where you can still build a tangible, multi-generational legacy that doesn’t just disappear into the Treasury’s “fiscal drag” net. Stop relying on one shelter. This conversation matters most for people building multi-decade retirement income streams who value control under stress. RMD percentages rise as you age. Policy loan strategies often assume steady withdrawals. Loan interest compounding and rising RMD schedules don’t scale the same way. Timing affects taxes. But timing also interacts with longevity assumptions, market cycles, and compounding inside a policy. Most illustrations don’t pressure-test those curves together. This is where explanation ends and structure begins. Full episode on YouTube: Tax Free Wealth Blueprint. #RetirementArchitecture #SequenceRisk #TaxStrategy #HighIncomePlanning

Recent comments from Senator Tommy Tuberville have reignited debate about the future of Social Security Administration and how retirement systems should evolve for the next generation. Tuberville argued that many Americans wonder whether their long-term contributions could have grown more if invested elsewhere, highlighting broader concerns about sustainability, funding gaps, and the need for potential reforms. With projections showing financial pressure on the system in the coming decades, discussions around modernization, funding adjustments, and long-term stability are becoming increasingly urgent. Regardless of political views, one reality is clear: retirement security will likely depend on a combination of public programs, personal savings, and long-term investing strategies. What do you think — should Social Security be reformed, expanded, or restructured for the future? #WealthPerspective #RetirementPlanning #SocialSecurity #FinancialFuture #PolicyDebate
