We promised to act on energy costs - and we have. Great to see the work happening behind the scenes at @octopusenergy 🐙
RenewableUK. Greg Jackson from Octopus. Tony Blair. The Chair of GB Energy. All support more drilling in the North Sea. Thousands of jobs lost, billions in tax revenue gone, more reliance on dirtier imports - all because Ed Miliband is too ideological to admit he is wrong.

In the Senate, Alex Antic posed a controlled but consequential question: when repeated supply shocks expose Australia’s declining self-sufficiency, is the alignment between crisis and response still incidental, or does it follow a direction already outlined in global frameworks such as Agenda 2030? He did not allege conspiracy. He identified pattern. Disruptions in fuel and industrial inputs create the conditions for intervention, and the tools are known: rationing, subsidies tied to behaviour, and digital compliance systems. Framed as sustainability and resilience, these measures sit comfortably within internationally coordinated policy language. His argument draws on precedent. Australians have already experienced conditional access under crisis management. The framework exists; only the justification changes, from public health to resource control or emissions targets. With real disruptions, including the Yara ammonia outage and refinery constraints abroad, the pressure is not theoretical. The question is whether these events remain temporary disruptions or accelerate a shift toward permanent, globally aligned policy architecture. The test now is simple: whether emergency measures recede, or endure.
"You are burning my future. You are burning young people's future." Such powerful footage of Myles and Nell disrupting the Prime Minister's keynote speech at the Future Victoria summit today 🔥✊ Albanese tried to talk about the bright future of Victoria and Australia whilst ignoring the inescapable truth: as long as our his government continues expanding coal and gas, our futures will be devastatingly grim. Albanese is condemning us to futures full of floods, fires, storms, famine, water scarcity, conflict, upheaval and so much devastation. What a disgrace that the PM doesn't even acknowledge 18-year-old Myles as he courageously pleaded for a safe future. Shame on you. And all power to Myles and Nell. Thank you for standing up for all our futures 🌊
