This reel is satire, but its point is serious. When Holiness and Apostolic publications teach that “God’s opinion on adornment is clear” and “Jewelry represents pride and rebellion against God,” but then we allow and promote adornment/jewelry that goes on our clothing, in our hair, or has a watch face—that’s inconsistent and confusing. Biblically speaking, bejeweled hair clips aren’t inherently wrong, but neither is jewelry (Ex 3:22; 35:22; Jer 22:24; Ez 16:3-12; Lk 15:8-9, 22). What’s wrong is when we arbitrarily decide adornment is unholy and label other believers as “rebellious” or “compromisers” for not agreeing, and then we don’t even keep our own standard. What’s a solution to the inconsistency? Paul gives a great one in Romans 14. When it comes down to applying biblical principles practically, Paul didn’t say, “Ask your pastor,” or “Decide as a congregation,” he put the responsibility on individual believers. Instead of pressuring everyone in our churches to believe and look exactly the same, we need to do as Paul did and hand responsibility back to individual believers. If it’s up to the individual to decide how much/what type of adornment is appropriate, then it’s completely fine if they decide to wear jewelry in their hair but not on their face. ¡Lo que vivimos en este congreso fue simplemente poderoso y sobrenatural! Cada momento estuvo marcado por la presencia de Dios, renovando fuerzas, restaurando corazones y encendiendo nuevamente el fuego en cada siervo y ministro. Fuimos testigos de la grandeza de Dios obrando en medio de su pueblo, uniendo a toda la iglesia en un mismo sentir, bajo una misma visión. Cada palabra, cada alabanza y cada oración dejaron una huella profunda que seguirá dando fruto. Damos toda la gloria y honra a Dios por permitirnos ser parte de este tiempo tan especial, donde su Espíritu se movió con libertad y poder. ¡Seguimos avanzando con fe, unidad y propósito! #IPUCHILE #UPCI
