For a few seconds at Gianni Versace S/S 1995, Shalom Harlow and Brandi Quiñones created a runway moment people are still debating decades later.
Walking toward one another in dramatically contrasting black and white looks, the two models crossed at the centre of the runway and lightly collided shoulders. Neither broke character. They simply continued in opposite directions as though nothing had happened.
The visual was almost too perfect.
With one model dressed in dark tones and the other in bright white, the collision has since been interpreted by some fashion fans as a deliberately choreographed representation of opposites meeting, almost like yin and yang.
Others believe it was simply an accidental shoulder bump between two models passing slightly too close during a live runway show.
With no definitive explanation from Versace, the ambiguity has become part of what makes the clip so memorable.
Whether intentional or completely spontaneous, a split-second collision became one of those perfectly cinematic moments only a 1990s Versace runway could produce.

Nessuna coreografia, nessuna linea guida.

The late 1990s fashion world was often glamorous on the runway but fiercely competitive behind the scenes.
Before opening the Atelier Versace Fall/Winter 1999 show, Gisele Bündchen allegedly discovered broken shards of glass hidden inside her shoes.
According to fellow model Isabeli Fontana, Gisele immediately knew someone had sabotaged her.
Despite the shocking incident, she refused to let it stop her.
She removed the glass, composed herself, and walked out to open the show flawlessly.
The moment has since become one of fashion’s most talked about backstage stories, symbolizing both the intense rivalries of the supermodel era and Gisele Bündchen’s extraordinary determination under pressure.
