If you ever wanted to know the chaos that happens bts during our fast ASMR tours….here it is 🤪
We try not to talk during it, but with a van that has probably 100 features it’s hard to remember them all!😅 this was probably the 4th take!

‘Why would you buy an old van?’ Is one of the most asked questions I’ve gotten over the years - so here’s a few reasons why:
1. It was within my budget! 💸
I bought Carl for $3,300 in 2018. I was planning to do a 3 month road trip and I really didn’t want to go into debt just to travel.
2. I wanted something with character.
I’ve always loved vintage things and there was something about an old van that felt so much more me than buying a brand new, perfectly built out van.
3. They’re relatively simple to work on.
When something goes wrong, it’s generally more straightforward for a mechanic to diagnose and fix. The parts and systems are simpler so repairs can be more affordable than dealing with a newer, more complicated vehicle.
4. A slower way of traveling.
Older vehicles naturally encourage you to slow down and enjoy the journey.
5. I don’t worry about people breaking in as much.
People either assume I’m an old man or I have no money to steal 🫠
6. It makes traveling feel like an adventure.
People usually underestimate how capable Carl is 💪🏻
7. Carl typically stands out in a crowd!
It’s fun to connect with other traveler’s who have older vehicles too!
8. It’s roomy!
Being able to stand in your van is one of my biggest recommendations when you’re looking for a van to live or travel in. It makes such a big difference!
9. I doesn’t need to be perfect.
One of my favorite things about having an old van is that it’s already lived a life. There are scratches, dents and little quirks - I think that just adds to the story.
10. It became more than just a vehicle.
I originally bought Carl for a 3 month road trip and somehow that trip turned into years of traveling and a completely different life than I ever expected!!
