❓Why . Is . This . Important ❓ The Bhagavad Gita is one sacred part of a much larger scriptural tradition within Sanatana Dharma. This reel offers a simple map of the scriptures of Sanatana Dharma - the vast knowledge system. When we look at this vast tree of knowledge, one thing becomes very clear — our Rishis had already done unbelievably deep work for humanity. They did not leave us with fragments. They gave us a complete framework for life, thought, worship, discipline, philosophy, society, cosmos, inner growth - literally everything! Everything was preserved, organised and handed down with so much care… almost like it was placed on a platter for us. All we have to do is approach it with sincerity, study it, and slowly bring it into life. But what are we doing today? Many among us dismiss these Shastras as “impractical,” “outdated,” or irrelevant for modern times. So while we are doubting our own inheritance, the West, China, and other global centres of research are studying these very scriptures, analysing them, re-presenting them to the world in fancy terms, and in many cases claiming their intellectual rights (patenting) or turning them into cultural/health capital without even due credit to the source! And then we start respecting it — not because our tradition said it, but because it came from the west! This reel is meant to be a mirror for that mindset. Not to create guilt. But to create reflection. How can we raise a generation that values modern education, and at the same time does not become rootless? For most people, intelligence means thinking faster, remembering more, or solving problems. But the Vedas describe a completely different kind of intelligence. They speak of five higher faculties hidden within you: Dhī — the power to directly perceive truth. Medhā — the power to retain and integrate knowledge. Prajñā — the awareness that sees beyond thought. Dhṛti — the inner will that holds you steady in truth. Smṛti — the remembrance of your real nature. Gayatri is not asking for wealth, success, or comfort. It asks for the awakening of these faculties. Because once these awaken, reality is no longer interpreted. It is seen. This is why Gayatri is called Vedamata — the mother of knowledge. Not because it gives you information. But because it awakens the intelligence that recognizes what has always been true.
