New Hampshire Road Trip, Part 3: Monadnock & Merrimack regions! 🌿 @visitnh’s Instagram followers recently voted on their favorite spots around the state, and I’m taking a road trip to visit some of these fan favorite places. I planned my trip online using @visitnh’s new interactive map, and the last spots I visited on my drive were the Monadnock & Merrimack regions. 📍 My first stop was the cute town of Peterborough, home to Pack Monadnock and Miller State Park, the oldest state park in New Hampshire. Voted “Favorite Hiking Spot,” the summit of Pack Monadnock offers stunning views. On a clear day, you can even catch a glimpse of the Boston skyline! 📍 Next I stopped by @rosalysgarden, New Hampshire’s oldest active organic farm, voted “Favorite NH Attraction” in the Monadnock region. Here you’ll find organic produce as well as locally-made NH products. My favorite part was the gorgeous cutting garden, where you can stroll among the flowers and create your own bouquet. 📍 If you’re looking to stay over, check out @stayriverhouse, voted “Favorite NH Inn” in Monadnock. Offering beautiful views of the Contoocook River, it’s close to town and a great spot from which to explore the area. 📍 Lastly, I drove to Nashua to visit Mine Falls Park, voted “Favorite NH Attraction” in the Merrimack region. Located right in the heart of the city, this park is perfect for walking or biking, and also offers a boat launch and an area for fishing on Mill Pond. 📍 And as no road trip is complete without ice cream, I had to pop into Hayward’s, voted “Ice Cream Shop with the Most Unique Flavors.” I opted for Milky R Way, which is malt ice cream with chocolate chips and caramel swirl - and it was so good! I had so much fun exploring Southern NH on my road trip! Check out VisitNH.com for more New Hampshire road trip ideas, and view the IG stories from my explorations saved as a highlight on my page!
Fall Colors In New Hampshire Are Something Special! We took a trip to Lost River Gorge in the autumn, and the foliage was gorgeous... not to mention the views are spectacular. When to visit: The 1st and 2ond week of October. Expect huge crowds on the weekends, try to visit on a weekday. We went when it was a bit cooler and cloudy and it wasn't too crowded. Are you going on a Fall Foliage trip this autumn? #newhampshire #newengland #bucketlist #autumn
🍁 Add this to your New England fall bucket list! 🚡 Follow @thisworldofadventure for more bucket list adventures across the USA 📌 Save this for your fall trip to New Hampshire! The Gondola Skyride at Loon Mountain is the longest scenic gondola ride in New Hampshire, taking you 1.3 miles above the fall foliage to the summit of Loon Peak. The ride takes about 12 minutes each way and climbs 1,738 vertical feet to an elevation of 2,733 feet. (Loon Mountain Resort) And the gondola is only part of it. Once you reach the top, there’s plenty to explore before heading back down! 🍂 Gondola Skyride Ride above the trees with views of the White Mountains completely covered in fall color. 🪨 Glacial Caves Walk, climb, and squeeze your way through massive granite boulders at the summit. (Loon Mountain Resort) 🏔️ Observation Tower Climb to the top for even better views. On a clear day, you can see from Mt. Moosilauke all the way to Mt. Washington. (Loon Mountain Resort) 🥾 Hiking There are trails at the summit if you want to spend more time exploring before taking the gondola back down. 🍽️ Summit Café Grab something to eat at 2,733 feet with views of the surrounding White Mountains. (Loon Mountain Resort) ⭐️ TIPS: 🍁 Go during peak foliage for the best colors. 🎟️ Buy your tickets online more than 24 hours in advance to save and skip the ticket window. (Loon Mountain Resort) 👟 Wear good shoes if you plan on exploring the Glacial Caves. ⏰ Give yourself plenty of time at the top. The last gondola down leaves 30 minutes before the resort closes. (Loon Mountain Resort) 🚗 Parking is FREE!
