You trade 5 minis on a 50K account.
One or two stops and you're done.
That's not a system. That's a lottery ticket.
Most traders never do the math. They just size based on what the firm allows, not what their account can actually sustain.
Here's what almost nobody does: calculate how many consecutive stops you can take before blowing up.
If your hit rate is 60%, you're going to have losing streaks. Three stops in a row isn't rare. Five stops in a row will happen.
So your position size needs to account for that reality.
I'd say you should be able to take at least four to five stops in a row and still have a functioning account.
Most traders? They can take one.
Then they wonder why they can't make it past the first week...
