To see this wonderful family being a team and making an impact and getting to spend a day in the life with them had my heart overflowing. Raia Olsen grazes sheep under solar panels and grazes cattle through her moveable fencing grazing system. Raia is a leader on Oahu in using sheep and cattle as tools for wildfire mitigation while producing grass fed sheep and beef for a range of different markets. @oahu_grazers @madagriculture

Here’s the reality.⬇️ Almost 10,000 Interior employees have either been fired or taken buyouts this year. Over $300 million of future royalty revenue from oil drilling on public lands LOST due to breaks given to Big Oil. National parks lost over $1 million per day during the 43-day government shutdown. USFS is 38% behind on wildfire mitigation. Is this abundance? (Footage from Trump Cabinet Meeting Dec 2, 2025 — edit by @western.priorities) #nationalparks #oilandgas #wildfire #economy #recreation
WILDFIRE IS COMING 🚫🔥 As fire service professionals, our responsibility extends far beyond responding to active wildfires. A crucial aspect of our mission is preventing the spread of wildfires within California’s State Responsibility Area (SRA). When not engaged in emergency response, our wildland #firefighting hand crews focus on essential fuel reduction and vegetation management projects. These efforts involve strategically removing hazardous vegetation to reduce fire intensity and improve containment efforts should a fire impact our communities. Public awareness and cooperation in maintaining defensible space around properties play an equally vital role in wildfire mitigation. Together, through preparedness, prevention, and collaboration, we strengthen California’s resilience against wildfires. 🎥 Clips contain San Diego Crew 1, La Cima Conservation Camp, San Diego Crew 3 (CAL FIRE/California Conservation Corps), and San Diego Crew 4 (CAL FIRE/Cal Guard)
Wildfire prevention starts before fire season begins. Federal and state wildfire reduction grants are helping agencies and land managers fund proactive fuel reduction in high-risk areas like steep slopes, roadsides, and overgrown corridors. Early planning allows teams to reduce fuel loads safely and make the most of available funding. In challenging terrain, Remote-Operated Robotic Mowers help crews work more safely and efficiently. If wildfire mitigation is part of your plan this year, early coordination between funding, planning, and equipment can make all the difference. #WildfirePrevention #WildfireGrants #FuelReduction #VegetationManagement #PublicWorks #GroundsManagement
Sign our petition today! Link in bio!   Have you heard that the Forest Service is increasing protections for old- growth across Every. Single. National Forest in the U.S.? This could actually END commercial logging of old-growth on all National Forests.     Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, there are a few loopholes: the current draft would not fully ban logging in old-growth forests. Plus, it does not include strong protections for the mature trees that should be allowed to grow into old-growth and replace the old-growth forests lost to past logging. The agency is also considering loopholes that could allow commercial logging under the guise of wildfire mitigation, despite the science showing that old-growth forests are often more resilient to fire if left alone.      It’s up to the public to set the record straight and close these work arounds.   Your voice matters! Sign our petition and submit a public comment! The Forest Service is accepting comments about the old-growth forest plan amendment until February 2nd at 9pm PST. This is a rare and valuable opportunity for us to tell the agency what we think they should consider moving forward. Thank you for taking action.   #WorthMoreStanding #ForestDefenseIsClimateDefense #ClimateForests #WeLikeItWild #CascadiaWildlands Video description: Aerial of tree tops with white block text that reads “forests need you”
California’s wildfires are devastating, and government mismanagement is making it worse. Bad policies on wildfire mitigation, water management, and the prioritization of DEI over ensuring basic goverment operations have left communities unprepared. Gavin Newsom should worry less about enacting the radical Left’s agenda and more about making sure cities have the resources they need to fight wildfires.
The true GOATs of wildfire mitigation. 🐐 We recently welcomed 1,200 goats to our Colorado facility to help manage and clear 10 miles of hazardous fire fuels. Goats are effective for fire mitigation because of their ability to: 1️⃣ Vigorously consume fire prone vegetation like weeds, scrub oak and poisonous plants. 2️⃣ Trample grazing areas to bare dirt. 3️⃣ Navigate rocky terrain and landscapes that would be inaccessible or cumbersome for equipment or firefighters. By harnessing this "hoof" power, we're reducing the risk of wildfires and fostering a unique connection between our organization and the environment.
The @renofiredept is excited to announce the return of the Dumpster Program to help with wildfire mitigation! Dumpsters can now be reserved for whole neighborhoods that border the wildland urban interface while supplies last. Scan the QR Code in the video to learn more or visit Reno.Gov/news.
