@nobuakifukukawahorn lune_lune3425 @ama8chance Japan is one of those countries that, since the very beginning of my career as a composer, warmly embraced my music and gave an important impulse to my artistic path. Today I would like to share a brief example of that connection: a few weeks ago, my composition “Memorias” for two horns and wind band was performed by Nobuaki Fukukawa Horn 福川伸陽 and Kaho Takada, together with the Kanagawa University Symphonic Band, under the direction of Hirokazu Amakasu. What a remarkable display of talent in just the opening bars of the initial cadenza. Congratulations to everyone involved.

One of the most difficult solos for the tuba but in the wind band we have a different version😅 #tuba #solo #musorgsky #windband

The Euphonium solo from the opening March of Gustav Holst’s Second Suite in F is one of the most iconic moments in the wind band repertoire 🎺🇬🇧. Its singing tone and lyrical phrasing show why the euphonium is often called the “cello of the band” — warm, expressive, and unmistakably beautiful. 💫 - NHK Symphony Orchestra Wind Section led by Shigeo Genda - - - 🎥 Credit: @nyr5030 on YouTube - - - #Holst #SecondSuiteinF #Euphonium #EuphoniumSolo #BrassGeeks #WindBand #ConcertBand #BritishMusic #HolstSuite #LowBrass #Trombone #Baritone #BrassFamily #BandMusic #EuphoniumPlayer #MusicEducation #ClassicalMusic #BrassPlayers #EuphoniumLove #HolstMusic #SymphonicBand #BrassPerformance #EuphLife #LowBrassLove #MusicianLife #BrassCommunity #BrassRepertoire #BandLit #HolstSecondSuite #EuphoniumFeature

One of my favorite new 'standards' in the wind band repertoire!

Happy Monday! To kick off the week, take a second to bask in the opening fanfare of Dmitri Shostakovich's "Festive Overture," performed by The United States Air Force Concert Band! Written in 1954, Festive Overture was composed for the 37th anniversary of the October Revolution. Though originally scored for orchestra, it has become a standard of the wind band repertoire, with its glorious brass fanfares and dizzying woodwind runs. This performance was recorded in October 2019 at the New World Center in Miami, Florida. We hope this helps to chase away any Monday blues! . . . . . . #USAFBand #MilitaryBand #HonorInspireConnect #LetsGoBand #Trumpet #Trombone
