#WordUp
Most people don’t know… Word Up! wasn’t originally a metal song.
The track was first released in 1986 by Cameo — a funky, upbeat anthem full of groove, confidence, and swagger. It was all about style, attitude, and that signature 80s vibe.
But in 2004, Korn took that same song… and flipped its entire soul.
They stripped away the funk.
They slowed it down.
They injected raw emotion, darkness, and heaviness.
What was once playful became intense.
What was once smooth became haunting.
Jonathan Davis didn’t just sing the song — he felt it. His voice added a layer of pain and grit that completely changed how the lyrics hit.

Stepping back into action now that I’m home with my favorite guys 🥰 Does anyone even say WORD UP anymore or are we aging ourselves? Either way this classic song still slaps! Sometimes all it takes is being back where you belong with the music turned up and a few good steps to get right back in the rhythm 🎵
