Bank Dunia atau World Bank baru aja nurunin proyeksi pertumbuhan ekonomi Indonesia dari 4,8% menjadi 4,7%. Revisi dari World Bank ini tercantum dalam laporan East Asia and Pacific Economic Update edisi April 2026.
Soal ini, Purbaya bilang World Bank dosa besar karena turunnya angka proyeksi pertumbuhan ekonomi RI dari World Bank dinilai keliru, dan memunculkan sentimen negatif ke perekonomian dalam negeri.
Di sisi lain, Purbaya menyebut pertumbuhan ekonomi RI di kuartal I-2026 masih kuat dan diproyeksi mencapai lebih dari 5,6%.
Nah, Purbaya memprediksi, World Bank mendapatkan angka 4,7% itu karena harga minyak dunia yang terus merangkak naik. Purbaya bahkan minta World Bank untuk minta maaf kalau nantinya harga minyak turun, dan World Bank mengubah proyeksi pertumbuhan ekonomi RI.

The global economy has proved surprisingly resilient, says Petya Koeva Brooks, the Deputy Director of IMF at the annual World Economic Forum.
The IMF has upgraded their forecast to 3.3% growth this year, but say that opposing forces are at play such as trade and policy uncertainty, potentially dragging growth down.
Another key concern is the potential for disappointment regarding AI's productivity gains. If this leads to a stock market correction, the resulting wealth effect would broadly reduce economic activity, says Brooks.

The Director General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, had a meeting with the World Bank’s delegation, led by Ruchita Manghnani, to discuss Nigeria’s investment lifecycle and opportunities to strengthen the investment climate.
Discussions focused on assessing the investment lifecycle from entry and establishment through aftercare and reinvestment, identifying gaps, and exploring practical recommendations to improve the experience of investors in Nigeria. The Director General also provided an overview of PEBEC’s role in supporting investment and strengthening the business environment, including its engagement with subnational governments.
The engagement concluded with discussions on potential World Bank technical assistance to support the streamlining of investment processes and the development of a more coordinated one-stop approach, enabling investors to better navigate requirements from entry through the investment lifecycle.
PEBEC remains committed to working with development partners and relevant stakeholders to streamline business and investment processes, strengthen the investment climate, and create a more predictable and enabling environment for investors across Nigeria.
