🇨🇦 #TapClipOfTheDay:
Back to CANADA, and this is a Paige Tirs Appreciation Post.
Paige (@paige_tirs) is incredible. A native of Edmonton, Alberta, she is a professional dancer, accomplished choreographer, and educator. Having trained in many disciplines, her main passion and focus is Tap Dance. She directs and owns @rhythmmotives, both a professional and youth ensemble tap company dedicated to preserving the history of Tap dance. Her most recent venture is being part of Edmonton’s newest collective: @theladiesofjazz, a jazz trio that has replaced the percussion with Tap dance. The Ladies of Jazz is a group comprised of Jocelyn Anselmo (vocals), Simon Abbott (keys) and Kessler Douglas (bass). Paige also professionally dances with renowned company Vinok Worldance.
Paige has performed with The Ladies of Jazz at the International Jazz Festival (2024), Yardbird Suite and Edmonton Fringe Festival for the past 2 years playing to sold out crowds. The Ladies of Jazz have produced various Christmas and Valentines shows, headlined the New Standards at the Common and have been seen at various venues in Edmonton. Paige choreographed a one woman tap show “Music Lives Inside” that debut at the 2021 Edmonton Fringe Festival. She has performed and toured in many shows with Vinok Worldance including performing with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. She choreographed and performed in a full-length tap show, Tip Tap Toe, If you love me never let me go, in the Edmonton International Fringe Festival. Toured through China as a dancer for Hip Hop Saved My Life and danced with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. She was also a recipient of the St. Albert Mayors Emerging Artist Award.
Paige sits as Treasurer for the Alberta Dance Alliance, teaches tap at various schools in the Edmonton area and is the Marketing Manager for Pilgrims Hospice Society. Currently living in St. Albert, Paige welcomed her daughter Sloan in April and has been enjoying the first year of being a new mom!
TBT: This is a throwback to when Paige performed “Cute” with the Ladies of Jazz at the @yardbirdsuiteyeg two years ago… when she was SEVEN MONTHS PREGNANT!
Cheers to you, Paige! 🇨🇦❤️
Welcoming some of you back after open houses, meeting some of you again after your first tour, and now getting into the details of a day you’ve already begun building together.
There’s something beautiful about that rhythm here.
Seeing your story unfold in stages.
From curiosity, to connection, to something real.
At Sparrow Lane, this is part of it.
You arrive thinking it’s just a night out.
No pressure.
No expectations.
The music starts.
Your fiancé reaches for your hand.
And suddenly, you’re in it.
Laughing.
Spinning.
Trying new dance moves you’ll bring into your wedding night.
You look around and notice no one is checking the time, no one is holding back.
And somewhere in the middle of it, it hits you.
You weren’t just there.
You were writing your love story in real time.
Not just a dance floor.
Something shared.
Something your people will talk about long after the music fades.
And just for a second, you see it.
What your wedding could feel like.
Not just beautiful.
But alive. ✨
The warmest thank you to everyone who was involved in this incredible evening. 🤍
