Here are the top 3 critiques I give as a competition judge! Share them with a team mate to level up your next performance 🫶🏾 1. MATCH YOUR MUSIC! With your timing and your expressions. 2. Quality over quantity… I’d rather see you nail a triple than hop around for a quad. 3. Have fun y’all! The more fun you have dancing, the more fun I have watching you! #dance #dancer #dancecompetition #dancelife #dancestudio #adjudicator #dancejudge #danceteacher #jazzdance #lyricaldance #jojosiwa #dancetips

Before you compare your scores from last competition…watch this 👀 Different competitions are judged on different scales and different levels. So what changed might not be your dancing… it might be the environment. #adjudicator #dancecompetition #scoring

Your superpower is YOU ⭐️ There’s no other you out there Please don’t compare yourself with others! Healthy competition and being inspired is fine but when it doesn’t help you it makes you feel bad it’s not going to benefit you at all! Stay in your lane work hard and be the best YOU 💝 it’s good enough x #dancecomp #dancetips #dancer #adjudicator #comparison #comparisonisthethiefofjoy

I’m trained to assess you , to judge and to nitpick … and I do that for a living. And for those special people, I will be very honest with you . 😘 The rest of the population - I’ll play nice. #dance #adjudicator #teacher #ballroom #fashion ( my day look for @californiaopendancesport )

spend 4 hours w yr music judge (a not so chill work date) 🎶 So what do judges actually listen for? here’s some breakdown ↓ Technical mastery — control of the instrument, tone quality, articulation Accuracy — rhythm, intonation, and faithfulness to the score, precision on details Musicality — phrasing, dynamics, and sensitivity to the music Interpretation & style — understanding the composer’s voice and historical context Expression — communication of character & emotion Overall Presentation — confidence, flow, and stage presence In the end, it’s not just about playing every note right. but always rmb how every element comes together to support the music as a whole. ✨So the next time you perform, ask yourself: are you just playing the notes, or are you telling the story w the music. #music #piano #pianocompetition #musicjudge #adjudicator #classicalmusic #bookstore #solodate #workdate
