He Quit Banking at 23 to Build a Trekking Company. Today, It’s Worth ₹10 Crore Vijay Pratap Singh, now 31, left a stable banking job at just 23 to follow his passion for the mountains. He started AdvenThrill, an adventure travel company that has now grown into a ₹10 crore business. But his journey was far from easy. Born in Bulandshahr, a village in Uttar Pradesh, Vijay studied in a Hindi-medium school before moving to Dehradun in 2005. Surrounded by nature, he developed a love for the mountains. After completing a degree in IT, he worked with HCL in Hyderabad and later with Kotak Mahindra Bank in Pune. But despite doing well in his job, he felt unfulfilled. He missed the mountains. In 2016, he launched AdvenThrill. He had already planned how the company would work — from building a website with help from his IT friends to managing operations with interns. He led his first trek with 12 MBBS students to Chopta Tungnath. Learning from that experience, he later completed a mountaineering course and built a skilled team of trek leaders and safety experts. The COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 was a big challenge. With travel paused, Vijay organised virtual marathons to keep people engaged and the brand alive. AdvenThrill stands out because of its focus on safety and experience. The company has three levels of treks: beginner, moderate, and difficult. Each trek is supported by trained leaders, cooks, and porters. Trekkers must submit medical reports and follow a fitness routine before the trek. Over eight years, the company has led treks in Uttarakhand, Himachal, Sikkim, Ladakh, and even Nepal. In 2024, they organised a special trek for blind football players — showing how inclusive and adaptable their treks can be. Vijay’s dream is to map new, unexplored trekking routes in India and bring more global recognition to Indian mountaineering.
