I did it!! A whole 10k completed and my first medal in the bag. 🥹 I’m so proud of myself!! It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Throughout most of the race, I was ready to stop as it was so hot today, and running uphill for some of the race was a new challenge for me. But I did it, and I absolutely smashed it. I just kept pushing even though the last 2k, I was literally about to cry because it was so hard 😂 but I did it! I kept thinking of all you guys and how hopefully it will inspire you to keep going and sign up for a race. The vibes were incredible, and I did it—my first race. Definitely an unforgettable experience. 🥹🤍 Also, I’m incredibly grateful for my training app; it’s the reason I made it here. The app’s audio cues on when to slow down or speed up were so helpful!! First time @great_run #greatsouthrun 🏃‍♀️ And top experience racing in the Elite women's race! Windy, rainy conditions made for a challenging morning out there for everyone I think!! Well done for the epic performances and resilient crowd support! 🙌🏼 In hindsight I realised driving there from home this morning was not the best idea - a super early start - parking stress and a sciatica flare up in my right glute from sitting for longer than I sit down in a week😆 Nonetheless a solid tempo today, a strong finish, and fitness has jumped several points according to @garmin ...if the algorithm is to be believed!
