Homestead wisdom⬇️
I never wear outside shoes around my house, ever. And I always ask anyone who comes over if they would remove their shoes at the mat too. When I did this the other day, I thought about how this was a rule growing up.
I am either barefoot or wearing my sheep slippers inside the house. I actually rarely ever do socks. So I really don’t want gas station floor, chicken coop muck, or whatever mystery in my living space 😂 I do go barefoot in the grass or garden then come inside but somehow that doesn’t bother me. Isn’t a gas station parking lot lol.
Then when it was sunny, I instinctively opened the window towards the sun and remembered the downstairs window above my toy box growing up that was open on sunny days. It also faced the sun.
I also have returned to hanging up my clothes to dry on a clothesline in the spring-fall. I also just shake out and hang up my linens and blankets on sunny days, even in the winter as the sun naturally removes odors and the breeze helps breathe life into whatever I put up. We used to drape blankets and rugs over the deck rails on sunny summer days to air them out. Seriously, I feel like doing this brings life into whatever you have out in the sun and breeze.
I do my best to clean up the kitchen every night. If I don’t wipe everything down, I at least try to do all of the dishes in the sink because waking up to a clean kitchen is a great way to start the day! It’s a noticeable difference for how I feel, and now I know why my mom did that (and still does.)
It’s interesting these little things that carry on or pop up later. I think there is wisdom in the previous generations and a lot of it has been lost to convenience. Preserving food, cooking from scratch, sewing clothes, even learning to source food locally!
When all of these things used to be the norm…
I used to wonder how the previous generations got so bamboozled and off course like tricked into using crisco instead of lard…it boils down to convenience and not understanding why our ancestors did the things they did.
Don’t forget the little things. They add up.
What would you add?

My Autistic Fear Factor = walking barefoot on the beach 🤮
Sensory issues have always made visiting the beach…uncomfortable…but sometimes my FOMO is stronger than my sensory aversions.
So I do the hard thing…
not because exposure will fix everything, but because of the chance that I might be 15% happier having tried it.
And sometimes 15% more happiness is worth the sand, the salt, and the water. 🌊
Do you enjoy the beach?? 🏖️

From a young age, my mom has always taught me how to ground myself. If I was stressed, she’d call me on the phone and tell me to hug a tree or walk barefoot on the grass or sand. The peace I feel in nature is indescribable. So sweet of God to create such beautiful places for us to recharge in ❤️
I am always grateful to discover a healthier option for my body and the planet. Barefoot shoes are one of those brilliant discoveries we’ve made as a family. My feet feel strong and free in @vivobarefoot I can’t wait to traverse many muddy trails this autumn! Where are you taking your boots this season? Let me know in the comments!
5 things I notice immediately at the park as an OT 👀
(Not judging… just things my brain automatically picks up on 😂)
- Parents who let their child figure things out, even if it takes longer. That pause = problem-solving, strength, confidence
- Barefoot new walkers (when it’s safe)
I always notice this — it makes such a difference for balance and body awareness
- The sensory seekers
The kids spinning, crashing, climbing everything, running laps. They are often just meeting their body’s needs in the best way they know how
- Families using the whole environment
Not just the equipment — but ramps, steps, grass, edges, uneven ground. That’s where so much real movement happens
- Kids moving in lots of different ways
Climbing, crawling, sliding, hanging, running
Variety = stronger, more adaptable movement over time

Reset Sunday: Barefoot Walking.
My weekly wellness reset always starts in the garden - it’s where I feel most grounded, emotionally and physically. I take a few deep breaths with a warm cup in hand - usually herbal tea or lemon water - and let myself settle into a feeling of gratitude. It’s a quiet, simple moment that helps me meet the day with more presence.

I am my father’s savage daughter the one who runs barefoot, cursing sharp stones, I am my father’s savage daughter I will not cut my hair, I will not lower my voice.
My dad has always taught me the value of hard work, the value of integrity, strong moral compass, and staying true to who I am. Even though he’s not around anymore, I still live my life based on those principles. Proud to always be daddy’s little girl. #daddydaughter #daddysgirlforever #daddyslittlegirl #dad #strong #strongwoman #empowerment #empowered #lovemylife #womensanthem #vanjadance #vanja90dayfiance #TLC #90DayFiance #90dayfiancebeforethe90days #90dayfiancehappilyeverafter #90dayfiancetheothettrway #90dayfiancememes #90dayfiancepillowtalk #90dayfiancenews #90dayfiancetea #90dayfiancetellall #90dayfiancefans #90dayfiancerecap #90dayfiancedrama #90dayfianceseason7

here’s a style tip: you don’t always need a new something! mixing & matching pieces in the back of your closet (and adding “newer” accesoriessss) is one of the best puzzles to figure out 🫶🏽

I always smile when I see children in Jamaica 🇯🇲, Memories always hit me , how I use to walk in Old Braeton barefoot (no shoes) Adults use to chase me to go put on slippers( but I didn’t have any 🥲) My dream is to inspire other girls who look like me to always remember that if I can do it they can do it too. A proud product of the Ghetto 🤞🏾🦋 it’s not where you come from it’s where you’re going!!! #ProudJamaican #LovetheChildren #Polofindaughter From homeless to Greatness let’s goooooooo
Here's my unsponsored review on toe shoes!
(They're not always called that, but I liked that the best out of all the names).
I mentioned this style in my first barefoot shoe review, but I tried a slightly different type this time and wanted to go a bit more in depth.
Pros:
-Comfortable
-More secure than flip-flops, with similar freedom
-Blends in a little more than other toe shoes I've seen.
Cons:
-Some may dislike the comfort and prefer something a little more raw.
-Depending on the individual, may not fit all situations (some business environments, perhaps).
-A bit pricey.
I dedicated some time in my previous review to mention that the health benefits of minimalist shoes are somewhat controversial. I still like them, but some people may want to take some of the claims with a grain of salt. Like many trends, there may be benefits that are slightly overhyped (and not always by the companies).
I know some people are hesitant and skeptical about things like this. Totally understandable. I mostly focus on the comfort, usability, and convenience of these more than other benefits.
If you're not used to minimalist shoes or walking barefoot, I recommend trying them for a few minutes a day to acclimate yourself and see how you feel.
Consult your doctor and podiatrist before trying.
Overall, I like these. I gave my dad my other pair. I might give him these too if he wants them, but otherwise I may wear them myself. I'd consider using them for some workouts.
My daily shoes will probably still be either flip-flops or a sneaker-style shoe (currently a minimalist one from Xero).

The main shoe I'm wearing here is from @wearpeluva
The blue shoe is from @xeroshoes
The black toe shoe is from @vibram
All of these brands sell different styles of shoes, if you want to check them out. Different people may prefer different brands or styles.
"Unsponsored" here means I bought all of the shoes shown. I make no money for saying good or bad things about them. I don't have a promo code either - but tell them I said hello (I try to be on friendly terms with most).
Hope this can help. Have a great day!

Rain in the ocean hits different. 🌊🌧️
After my dive, it started pouring and I loved every second of it.
I’ve always been obsessed with rain — barefoot, dancing, feeling it clean everything.
I actually always open my mouth and get a couple drops in there 🤪 my hippie obsessions 🌼
But rain + diving?
That’s healing on another level.🧜♀️✨️
Nature doesn’t need to be perfect to be powerful..🫶
Do you run from the rain… or let it wash over you?
○●○
La lluvia en el océano es diferente. 🌊🌧️
