Ramblin’ Chick (@ramblinchickbklyn) officially opens today, serving up chicken smashburgers from Ample Hills Creamery founders Jackie Cuscuna and Brian Smith in a fast-casual, diner-like setting. We had the pleasure of sampling the menu early. A juicy Buffalo Game Day burger topped with caramelized onions. A chicken Caesar salad in burger form, with a crunchy Parmesan patty. Chicken nuggets that taste like real chicken, with a Ramblin’ dipping sauce inspired by Raising Cane’s. Fries dusted with chicken skin. |Invite| Congratulations to Nathan and his team at @cockyscoop! Their second Market Square location has its soft opening this week. The grand opening is planned for the first week of April. The Pittsburgh location will feature some of their tried-and-true favorites from the Canonsburg spot along with new menu additions—and a bar as well. Their huge hand-breaded chicken sandwiches and smash burgers are cluckin’ awesome and we loved trying the new black bean burger that is made in house along with the hand-breaded fried cauliflower tossed in mango habanero sauce. Azalea & I took a little ride over to Franklin to check out the new @havenhotchicken ! They’re a chicken joint that started in New Haven, CT. They started as a pop up in 2019 and things were going so good they opened a brick & mortar by the next year in New Haven. Since opening the first location they opened up another 8 across CT. Their 10th location just opened in Franklin a few weeks ago. I believe it’s going to be the first of many in Massachusetts and I think they will have restaurants all across New England (and maybe beyond) within the decade. Since this is the first one to open in my state, I wanted to be one of the first few to check them out. They offer a fried chicken sandwich, but no tender. A nice juicy thigh, the correct way to make a chicken sandwich. And if you prefer a different style, they have a grilled chicken sandwich too. Aside from the sandwiches, they have tenders and tendie bowls with southern style sides & banana pudding. The tendie bowl over the mac & cheese was outstanding to say the least. There’s maple syrup in the sauce so it’s crispy, crunchy, creamy & sweet! I wanted to eat the whole bowl. Great sandwich too. Moist juicy & tender, beautifully breaded, fresh potato roll. I can’t wait til they open more locations and put one closer to me. Very good chicken.
