Mountains have brutal contrast. If you expose for your subject, you lose the sky. If you expose for the sky, you can recover shadows. When the terrain is sketchy, you can’t rely on gimbals. Bend your knees, tuck your elbows, and move like you’re absorbing impact. A telephoto lens becomes unusable in wind. Switch to the wide lens and get closer instead of zooming. These tiny transition shots make your edit feel intentional and cinematic. They also save you when you need to bridge two scenes. Mountain temps drain batteries 2–3× faster.
