Please eat your fiber!!!! Fiber cuts down dramatically on the incidence of diverticulitis, appendicitis, and cholecystitis!!! Fiber deficient people keep me very busy in the operating room.
🦠 We get so many clients who have a history of serious appendicitis with ongoing gut issues — and when we look at their stool tests, their bugs are just OFF! 🤯 This doesn’t surprise me since the appendix is really a storage facility for so many beneficial bacteria in the gut. 🌱 The cool part is that looking into the balance of the bugs and working to correct the imbalance while supporting a healthy microbiome can make the biggest difference! #GutHealth #MicrobiomeHealth #DigestiveWellness #HolisticHealth #GutHealing

But there’s actually a clinical reason. Movement can worsen pain when there is irritation of the lining of the abdominal cavity, called the peritoneum. So when I ask a child to jump, I’m looking at whether they can do it comfortably and whether movement makes their pain worse. A child who is reluctant or unable to jump because it hurts may have signs of peritoneal irritation, or peritonism. This can occur with conditions such as appendicitis. I’m also watching how they move generally. Can they walk comfortably? Climb onto the examination couch? Are they moving around the room, or do they prefer to lie very still because movement hurts? Importantly, this cannot diagnose or rule out appendicitis on its own. It is simply one part of the clinical assessment alongside the history, examination and, when appropriate, further investigations. So if your GP asks your child with tummy pain to jump up and down, there’s more clinical reasoning behind it than you might think. Seek urgent medical advice if your child has severe or worsening abdominal pain, looks very unwell, has persistent vomiting, green vomit, blood in their vomit or stool, a swollen or very tender abdomen, or if you are otherwise concerned. Who here no longer has an appendix? ☝🏻 It may be considered a "leftover" organ, but once it ruptures, the infection can spread throughout the abdominal cavity and become life-threatening. KokBisaYa Series 📚 New health facts every day Follow @fay.jvr Appendicitis an inflammation of the appendix, a small pouch attached to the large intestine. ⚡️ It usually happens when the appendix becomes blocked, allowing bacteria to multiply and cause an infection. What are the symptoms? 🤔 Watch until the end to find out. ✨ Does it always require surgery? 🏥 In most cases, especially acute appendicitis, surgical removal of the appendix (appendectomy) is the standard treatment to prevent rupture. In selected cases, antibiotics may be considered. However, the best treatment depends on each patient's condition and should always be decided by a doctor. What happens if treatment is delayed? ⚠️ ❌ The appendix can rupture. ❌ The infection can spread throughout the abdominal cavity (peritonitis). ❌ An abscess (a pocket of pus) may develop. ❌ It can progress to sepsis, a life-threatening condition. Can appendicitis come back after surgery? 🤔 No. Once the appendix has been removed, appendicitis cannot recur. However, abdominal pain can still be caused by many other medical conditions. Remember‼️ Pain in the lower right abdomen that keeps getting worse is not something to ignore. Don't massage the area or re only on painkillers without a proper medical evaluation, as this may delay diagnosis and increase the risk of serious complications. [Learn Appendicitis Today.
