Coloured porcelain chucks. Atmospherically fired in a salt kiln. No glaze, no molds, only vibes 😎
Watching this on repeat ♾ Cherrico Pottery is a ceramic studio dedicated to creating functional, wheel-thrown pottery rooted in patience, balance, and everyday use. We always hear about stopping to smell the roses, but I’m usually pausing to admire the leaves. Every leaf holds its own quiet magic. Each vein, each curve, feels like a tiny universe waiting to be discovered. When I’m in the garden, I’m often looking at every new leaf. This fascination inspired this periwinkle leaf jewelry dish. I press a real nasturtium leaf into soft clay, then lift it away to reveal the intricate impression it leaves behind. Even after pressing countless leaves into clay, I never tire of the details. Every dish captures a tiny miracle of nature, frozen in stoneware and glaze. The clay is coated with layers of stain and underglaze, glazed, then fired in an electric kiln to over 2200°F/1200°C, creating a glossy finish that highlights every vein and curve. I add touches of real gold and delicate sparkles to accent the leaf’s natural beauty and give it a feeling of quiet wonder. When you look closely at a leaf, what do you notice? I would love to hear what patterns, shapes, or worlds you see in this one #handmadeceramics #botanicalart #satisfying #pottery #natureinspired
My custom mixed casting slip (clay in liquid form) starts out grayish, yet turns a warm winter white once fired. #chainmail #chainmaille #ceramicdesign #stoneware #winterwhite
