Pieter de Groot Founder and Publisher asked me if I would like to be in the Masters the Art Guide where art by contemporary artists where competed with art from the @rijks_museumamsterdam. I did not need much time to think about it and I said yes with pride.
I provided photos and text. Also I was requested to choose art from the Rijksmuseum to compare with my art. I chose Sea Stripe Fern 1854 by Anna Atkins, because of the colours and the subject: Leaves .
Finally I officially received the Art Guide from Pieter de Groot at the Hall of Fame at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
I feel honoured and I am very proud I was one of the 20
participants.
Now the Art Guides are offered for sale at museum shops. Also they are offered as a corporate gift.
I would especially like to thank @fransastic, @artguideclub_by_fransastic and @studiofrans for this great adventure.

I’ve had a few people asking on how I draw transformers, so here’s like?? A lil thing on how I learned to draw them.
*I am not insinuating you should trace. Tracing official transformers content like screenshots, concept art etc is a decent way to get your footing if you’re a beginner artist, but if you’re relatively skilled, I’d stick to blocking (the first step with the red lines in the video, where I would get the general shape of each character). Don’t trace other artist’s work unless they give you express permission to do so!!!

🌱3 GROWTH Mindsets for Artists✨
(Save this post in case you ever feel lost in self-doubt❤️🩹)
The difference between a “miserably successful” artist, and a “happily successful” artist, is that one fell in love with the process, while the other is currently obsessed with achieving results. Being an artist should never feel like an endless pursuit of chasing requests, capitalizing on trends, or pinching pennies (survival mode). Creating art should feel joyful, therapeutic, and facilitate inner and outer growth! Now that I’m free from my negative feedback loop, let me give you some big brother advice as a “happily successful” artist:
1) “You cannot shame yourself into becoming a better artist.”
Don’t listen to Hank (his coaching-talk backfires btw). When I left therapy, I realized that all the shaming I had done to myself for not being able to produce MORE art and grow FASTER, actually backfired each time I DID reach my goals. Your goals are always going to change once you hit them. So Instead, focus on longevity, enjoying the process, and your overall journey.
2) “Comparison is the THIEF of joy.” 🙏
We only see polished RESULTS, but we never see the struggle, pain, or mileage behind an artist’s pen! Social Media is a very dangerous frame of reference for setting up our own expectations of what we could have or where we should be. What REALLY determines our affinity for success, is the obsession to study, practice, and create what speaks to our interests. Focus on YOUR journey, and the destination may end up being far better than what you used to covet!
3) “You NEED to keep failing.”
There is no such thing as a natural artist, because growth is a collection of our past mistakes. It’s unnatural, (and abnormal) to yield perfect results after every attempt. So if you ever hope to arrive to your next “art glow up era”, shake out all the mistakes from your wrists first, by putting it on paper!
Happy studies! I believe in y’all! 🙇♂️🌱
