Meet the Assassin Bug nymph. He kills ants, drinks their insides, and stacks their empty bodies on his back to hide and confuse predators.
We all have baggage. His is just lighter because he ate the insides first. 🎒🥤

Get stick bugged lol :D
I promise I will repeat this video every time I find another stick insect!
This was just a tiny nymph, so not certain on the species but I'm guessing Didymuria violescens, Spur legged plasmid
This baby was easy to spot because it was sitting on a hand rail post, but you can see the second I place it back into the grass it almost completely disappears, showcasing that truly incredible camoflauge!
Have a great rest of your day! Keep on dancing like this little fella (they do this to look like a stick swaying in the wind as they walk)

SO CUTE!! Stenocotis depressa nymph
I love how baby flat headed leaf hoppers are basically translucent and 2D, just adorable little cryptic pieces of bark... Just a tree ... Nothing more ;)
This species is common on smooth barked gum trees. The adults have wings and are a lot more 3D than their flat baby counterparts.

1.2 (1 male,2 females) Alienostreptus bicoloripes. You can easily differentiate the genders by a quick glance. Females have massively bulbous heads, and males have a very noticeable lump showing off where their gonopods are on their neck.
So lucky @boogie_down_bugs

Not only is Psyttala horrida the largest assassin bug in the world, but they are also equally impressive in the looks department, and fun to keep as well. We should have these spikey guys back in stock soon! #assassinbug #invertabrate #insect

Shovel ….. I’m so disappointed in my son
this is so dumb but he looks so beautiful holding the wine glass .., woah (he’s gorgeous 24/7 ofc)
he’s in such a big tank for his size i truly struggle to spot him most days :”) he’s either in the dirt or hidden in a log or behind some foliage
(Species: Lamprima adolphinae)

*AnisolabiS. 😅 In terms of body mass, Anisolabis maritima has gotta be the largest earwig species I've ever seen. Labidura riparia may have them beat in terms of length, but these are chunkier by far! Such a cool species, I'm glad my culture has established itself nicely now!

Everyone congratulate Guava on her 10/10 flying skills 🗣️
Okay but seriously, Guava still isn’t … the best flier 😔
I think her problem is she’s very erratic & doesn’t prep properly :”) she just flings herself around hoping for the best idk
keep in mind, when I’m sharing these ‘silly’ clips, they’re not the FULL picture! it’s a tiny slice of the clips I have of her flying, so MOST of the time she’s not too bad, she just has her moments! 🤷🏼♀️
but they make me giggle & I love watching them back :”)
