This is the longest video I’ve made, but I think it’s worth watching if you question your own religious or atheistic standing. Watch in 2X if you need to. In this video I explain why I call myself an atheist, not an agnostic. I explain and elucidate my opinions on positive and negative religious propositions and which are justified. Furthermore, I elucidate global and local atheisms as described by Jeanine Diller then pose challenges to her arguments against global atheism from Draper and Milem. I conclude that there are two forms of justified atheisms: global negative atheism and local negative atheism. Now this is not to say that atheists are the most discriminated against. For one to be discriminated against people would have to know that they are in that group, which is difficult to know for an atheist without them actually saying it. But they can assume if they do a negative action and then correlate it with them being an atheist. However, other groups can be spotted through basic observation and thus are much more likely to be discriminated against. This atheist said... ✝️ "Christian infighting proves you can't even agree on your own religion, proving the Bible is fallible." Disagreement among readers doesn't prove a text is wrong. It proves readers are fallible. Those are two very different things. Scientists disagree about quantum mechanics. Does that prove physics is fallible? Constitutional scholars disagree about the amendments. Does that prove the Constitution is unreliable? Disagreement among interpreters tells you something about interpreters, not the source material. The idea that Christians "can't agree" is overstated. Protestants, Catholics, and Orthodox all affirm the Trinity, the deity of Christ, the resurrection, the virgin birth, creation by God, human sinfulness, and the need for salvation. That's remarkable unity across two thousand years and wildly different cultures. The disagreements are mostly on secondary issues, not the core gospel. Atheists can't agree either. Materialists, nihilists, existentialists, secular humanists, moral realists, moral anti-realists. You can't even agree on whether morality is real. Does that prove atheism is false? By your own logic, yes. Your argument assumes that if God spoke, everyone would automatically agree on every detail. God gave us a text. Humans are fallen and bring biases to everything they read. The problem isn't the text. It's us. "Infighting" isn't a sign of the absence of truth. It's the fruit of the search for it. You can't criticize Christians for blind belief and then shout us down when we try to see. ====== Is Jesus God?
