Still using thumb grip at the net? ❌ Here’s how to fix your backhand cross net shot 👇 Backhand cross Net Shot – Step by Step Here’s what to focus on for clean and controlled cross net shots: ✅ Start with a split step, followed by a big lunge towards the shuttle. ✅ Your racket should look like a straight net shot – racket head below the wrist. ✅ Keep your non-racket arm back to maintain balance and posture. ✅ For the perfect hit: • Keep the racket head on one level as you move forward. • Drop your arm slightly to change the angle, then use a short, quick motion to hit the shuttle. ✅ Never use thumb grip for backhand net play! 👉 Hit ❤️ if this helped you improve your backhand net shot! 👉 Follow for more badminton techniques, tips, and drills 🏸✨ #Badminton #BackhandNetShot #BadmintonTips #BadmintonSkills #BadmintonTraining #BadmintonFootwork #BadmintonGrip #BadmintonDrills #BadmintonPlayer #CourtMovement #RacketSports #BadmintonLife #SportsReels #ForYou
Improve your backhand from the back line 🏸 The late backhand is one of the most difficult shots to master — but with a clear breakdown it becomes much easier. In the slow-motion part you can see: ✅ racket setup ✅ forearm position ✅ exact hitting point 1️⃣ Exercise 1 – draw an infinity sign (∞) with your racket handle. 2️⃣ Exercise 2 – the infinity sign goes higher on the racket-arm side. 3️⃣ Exercise 3 – in the final position repeat exercise 2 to stabilize the motion. Footwork: use a split step, the racket leg pushes you to the back corner, and because the contact point is a bit behind you, you chase the shuttle to hit it. 👉 Follow for more technical badminton drills and slow-mo breakdowns 🏸✨ #Badminton #BackhandLate #RearCourt #BadmintonTraining #BadmintonDrills #BadmintonSkills #BadmintonTips #BackhandPractice #RacketSports #BadmintonPlayer #SportsReels #ForYou
🎯 The most important tip for the Backhand Late Shot Many players struggle with the backhand late shot because they use the wrong grip. If you’re chasing the shuttle deep into the backhand corner, you won’t have time for a full swing. That’s why the correct grip and forearm rotation are crucial. Key tip ✅ Use a V grip or bevel grip ❌ Do NOT use thumb grip When you’re late, you’re usually running after the shuttle and need to slice it with the edge of the racket to keep the rally alive. What to focus on 🏸 Rotate your forearm to generate power 🏸 Keep the racket relaxed for quick adjustment 🏸 Contact the shuttle slightly to the side using the racket edge 🏸 Focus on control rather than power This technique allows you to recover the rally and reset the point even when you’re under pressure. 💾 Save this tip and try it in your next training session. 👉 Follow for more badminton technique breakdowns and pro tips. #Badminton #BackhandShot #BackhandLate #BadmintonTechnique #BadmintonTips #BadmintonTraining #BadmintonSkills #BadmintonPractice #BadmintonPlayer #BadmintonCoach #ShotSelection #RacketSports #SportsReels #GameSetMatch #ForYou
PART II - Master the Backhand Pull / Backhand Drop Shot (Slice Technique) 🏸 The backhand pull / backhand drop shot is one of the most important intermediate badminton shots. If you want to move from a beginner to a strong all-round badminton player, mastering this technique will completely transform your backhand corner defense and control. 1️⃣ The Correct Backhand Bevel Grip The foundation of a precise backhand pull/drop shot is the bevel grip. Instead of placing your thumb fully flat like a standard backhand thumb grip, position your hand slightly on the bevel of the racket handle. ✔ Thumb rests diagonally along the bevel edge ✔ Fingers stay relaxed and slightly spread ✔ Maintain a small gap between the palm and the grip ✔ The racket should feel loose and flexible in your fingers Why the bevel grip? Because it allows you to create a natural slicing angle across the shuttle. This makes the shot more controlled and deceptive, while still allowing quick recovery. ⸻ 2️⃣ Focus on Hitting the Feathers (Slice Technique) A key secret of the backhand pull/drop shot is where you contact the shuttle. Instead of hitting the cork directly, focus on brushing the feathers with a slicing motion. ✔ Contact the feathers rather than the cork ✔ Use a brushing action across the shuttle ✔ Let the racket slice slightly from outside to inside This slicing action does three important things: 1️⃣ Control The slice slows the shuttle slightly, giving you a soft, controlled drop trajectory. 2️⃣ Deception Your swing can look like a backhand clear or drive, making it difficult for your opponent to read. 3️⃣ Stability & Recovery Because the swing stays compact and controlled, you maintain better body balance and can recover quickly back to base. Improving your badminton backhand from scratch can feel difficult, but one simple tip can make a huge difference. Focus on slicing the shuttle slightly while keeping the strings facing you instead of the net. When the racket face points too much toward the net, players often lose control and power. By keeping the strings facing more toward your body, you create a better angle and cleaner contact with the shuttle. The slight slice helps guide the shuttle and makes the shot easier to control, especially when learning the movement. It also encourages the correct backhand technique with better timing and smoother acceleration. Many beginners try to force the backhand, but this adjustment helps the shuttle travel more naturally and with less effort. Mastering the basics of racket angle and contact point builds a strong foundation. With the right setup, the backhand becomes simpler, more reliable, and much more effective in real badminton rallies. 🏸 #badminton #badmintonlife #badmintonplayer #bulutangkis #badminton🏸
Here's a mistake almost every beginner player makes — and they don't even know it's costing them power. Your racket head should always face your opponent. Not sideways. Not pointing outside the court. Directly at the person across the net. When your strings are misaligned before the swing, your hand has to compensate mid-stroke by rotating to redirect the shuttle. That rotation causes a slice — and a sliced shot loses power, loses direction, and is harder to control. The fix is simple: start with your strings already facing your opponent and hold the grip low on the handle. From that position, all you need to do is swing. No rotation. No compensation. Clean contact, full power, consistent direction. It sounds like a small detail. It's not. This one adjustment will immediately make your drives cleaner, your smashes more accurate, and your net shots tighter. Every coach in Asia will tell you the same thing. Check your grip right now. Where are your strings pointing? ─── 🏸 What you'll learn: • Why your racket face angle matters before you swing • How the wrong grip causes slicing and power loss • The correct ready position that leads to cleaner shots • A simple self-check you can do during your next session ─── #badminton #badmintontechnique #badmintontips #racketgrip #badmintoncoach
🏸 Your backhand late shot feels weak? You’re probably missing this. The biggest problem isn’t power — it’s wrong technique and timing. Fix these details and your backhand late will feel way more controlled. Key technique points ✅ Bevel grip — not thumb grip, not full V grip ✅ Use forearm rotation, not wrist flick ✅ Be ready to chase the shuttle (contact is behind you) ✅ Add a slice action to slow the shuttle and keep it tight 💡 The key: correct grip + rotation = control under pressure Get this right and your backhand late shot becomes smooth, stable and effective. 👉 Hit ❤️ if this helps your backhand 👉 Follow for more badminton breakdowns 🏸✨ #Badminton #BackhandLate #BevelGrip #BadmintonTips #BadmintonSkills #BadmintonTraining #BadmintonTechnique #RacketSports #FootworkDrills #BadmintonPlayer #SportsReels #ForYou #ImproveYourGame

Which type of backhand do you use the most? Vote below for your backhand level 🌟 1) Arm Only (Beginner): This is the level that my video will give most value to 😉 Here the power arm & elbow & wrist are not used which makes it difficult to make a shot that reached the back of the court 2) Wrist (Intermediate): Knowing how to use the wrist properly is key for both front and back court. As you can see that is already enough to hit a shot all the way back, if you do it right! 3) Arm & Wrist & Elbow (Advanced): This additionally to generating power by using a combination of arm, wrist and elbow it also gives you great control of where you want the shuttle to land 4) Reverse Slice (Pro Player): Lets see who of you all say they can do this shot, I might want to request proof😉 5 & 6 just for fun! What’s your best option from the forehand rear corner? 🏸🔥 Your choice depends on timing, balance and shuttle position. From this corner you usually have 4 main options: ✅ Forehand late – when you are under pressure ✅ Forehand one-leg – when you reach the shuttle early ✅ China jump – for faster recovery and attacking options ✅ Box jump – when you have time and want maximum power Different situations require different movement and shot selection. In the next videos we’ll break down when and why to use each of these options. 💾 Save this video so you remember the 4 rear-court solutions. ❤️ Like if you want to improve your shot selection. 👉 Follow for more badminton technique and tactical breakdowns. #badminton #badmintontips #badmintontraining #badmintonskills #badmintoncoach #badmintonplayer #badmintonfootwork #badmintonpractice #badmintontechnique #rearcourt #shotselection #racketsports #sportsreels #courtmovement #foryou
the correct forehand positioning
Coaching Friday ⭐️ Forehand Pull Tutorial 🤩 Master the Forehand Pull shot in Badminton is incredibly important! Just think about how often your opponent pushes you deeply into the forehand corner and you don’t have enough time for an attacking shot? To master the technique of the Forehand Pull shot in Badminton follow the following steps: 1) Split Step: 💨 Always start with an explosive split step, no matter if it’s an offensive or defensive one. Only this way you are able to move fast into any corner of the badminton court! 2) Deep Step into the corner: 🎯 After the split step make immediately a deep step into the corner, note tha the foot should be pointing towards where the shuttle will land! Only this way later on you can recover quickly. Note that the knee shouldn’t be bent much over 90 degrees when making the step, as this could cause injury. 3) Swing Preparation: ⭐️ For the swing preparation you have to both turn your body towards the side / almost back (to use the core strength later one for the shot) as well as make an extensive swing with your racket which gives you flexibility to make either a short pull / drop shot (towards the service line) or a fast aggressive flat shot towards the back court! The preparation gives you both Balance as well as Power later on! 4) Power Elbow: 💪🏻 Before hitting, make sure you use your elbow which allows you to create extensive potential power whe later hitting the shuttle. Just like in other shots such as smash / clear / flat shot / doubles defense etc. it allows you to last minute decide between a powerful aggressive or simply a rally-conroling shot 5) Shot + Recovery:💥 Here it’s important that when hitting the shuttle, you use the swing you made also to naturally shift your body weight again back to the center, allowing you to quickly recover. Note that the speed of your recovery depends on the show you chose to make (flat vs drop shot). The slower the shot, the more time you have to get back at the middle.
