With my 30th birthday just days away, I felt the Lord calling me to be baptized. Today, I took that step—publicly declaring my faith and surrendering my heart to Him. As Pastor TJ baptized me, I felt a deep peace and a renewal of my spirit. This is more than a moment; it’s the beginning of a lifelong journey with Christ. Grateful for His love, His grace, and this new chapter. I also want to give love to my Nashville pastor JD who also helped solidify my journey in Christ. Today we got baptized. Me and my girls. It was so special. And I don’t think I’ve ever felt something so heavy and so peaceful at the same time. Everything we’ve walked through… every tear, every hard moment, every time I didn’t know how I was going to keep going… I felt it all wash away today. Today was more than a baptism. It was letting go of everything that tried to break me… and stepping into the life God has been protecting us for all along. A new life. Just us. THIS is the most powerful moment I have EVER had!! I got baptized on Easter Day y’all!! 😄 Now some of you might be wondering if I was ever baptized as a baby, and yes I was. But getting to be re-baptized as an adult where I make that choice is life changing. After going through the last few years where my world was falling apart with the loss of my parents, the loss of my marriage, the pandemic crisis, inability to have children, financial strain, moving 3 times in one year, health issues and more, I was broken! I seriously didn’t know how to piece myself back together until I was led to @marinerschurch where they helped me find my connection back to the real source of how to rebuild my life and that was through my faith in God. After going through a few of their courses (Rooted & Remedy) I was able to heal past traumas, grieve the loss of my parents, the loss of my marriage, and gain my health back through answers God led me to. When I say it has been a 180° shift, that is an understatement. I truly have NEVER experienced this much joy!!!! He truly has resurrected me!! 🤗 That is why I decided to get baptized. I am SO unbelievably grateful for how God has saved me that I wholeheartedly turn my life over to him, Jesus & the Holy Spirit!! I now have an army behind me because I finally surrendered. I know that my parents are smiling down on me and I’m so grateful that they were the ones to initially introduce me to Jesus. Their seeds planted something in me that fully bloomed on Easter Day 2023! I’m forever changed! 🙌🏼✝️ Thank you to everyone who has had a hand in helping me along this journey. April 27th - Today marks one year since I got baptized—this time as an adult. I’m pretty sure I did it as a kid too, but this one meant something different. It was my way of publicly reclaiming my faith after taking a hard left in my 20s and an even harder left in my 30s. Let’s just say… I needed a good old, Holy bath. There is nothing we can do to earn our way into heaven. That was a huge misconception I had in my early years. I thought I was doing all the “right” things— I didn’t drink in high school, I obeyed my parents, Kept my promise to people, But just because it’s “good” doesn’t mean it’s of God. Being baptized didn’t save me. Surrendering to God did. Asking Jesus into my heart—that’s what saved me. I’m still a sinner. I still struggle. And guess what? I’m still saved. I’m still loved. And one day, I’ll still walk into heaven. I am covered by the grace of God and my sins are covered by HIM and my faith and desire keep me saved, even though I am a sinner. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. He got nailed to that cross like a common criminal… but He wasn’t just some guy. The Son of God. Now lemme get real with ya for a second… There was a time I lived like the rules didn’t apply. I thought I was untouchable until grace touched me. The kind that don’t come with strings attached. The kind that hits you harder than any street lesson ever could. And when I got baptized? That was the moment everything changed. 💧 I went down in that water like the man I used to be and came up someone new. Clean slate. Fresh start. Made. Not by the streets, but by the Savior. So today, on Easter, I don’t just remember His resurrection… I remember mine. From death to life. From sin to salvation. From lost to found. He rolled the stone away and He didn’t stop there.
