As I was watching this timelapse of my current work in progress, I noticed that I paint with my pinky up - like I’m drinking fancy tea!
This piece is a commission for very special friends and I’m so pleased with how it’s coming along. Can’t wait to share the completed work!

For those if you that missed it, here’s the story that Global News did on my art and my new charity initiative. I’m trying to raise money to support a local charity that is making a difference in the streets of Victoria. Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society (ACEHS) describes their mission to “ Our Mission: To lovingly provide culturally supportive housing, affordable housing and services that end Aboriginal homelessness on Vancouver Island.“ You can learn more about the services they offer through their website @acehsociety.com. I’ll be posting details on how you can purchase “ Band of Brothers” from the ACEHS on my social media following my meeting with the Coalition next week. Thanks!

If you live on the Sunshine Coast, you’ll know exactly where the inspiration for this piece came from! Recently, we’ve had not one, but two grizzlies wander into town. The first even triggered a full lockdown at my son’s school—he swears he saw it in the back field just before it was captured! While black bears are common here, grizzlies are a rare sight so close to home.
This big guy, painted at 30x30, is ready to meet you at the Art Crawl, happening October 18-20 at my studio in Roberts Creek. I’ll be showcasing him alongside @daughterofthesun_06’s beautiful pottery. Now, all he needs is a name—any suggestions?

Big shout out to @chelseapotteryco for sharing this method of transferring a design onto a mug. This really sped up the carving process for me! Stay tuned for more on doing underglaze inlay!
