🌕 The Remaining Full Moons of 2026
This astronomy poster highlights four of the final Full Moons of 2026:
September 26 — Harvest Moon: Traditionally associated with the autumn harvest and occurs close to the September equinox.
October 26 — Hunter’s Moon: The traditional name for the Full Moon following the Harvest Moon, historically linked with preparations for winter.
November 24 — Beaver Moon: A traditional name associated with beavers preparing for winter and seasonal trapping traditions.
December 23 — Cold Moon: A traditional winter name associated with the coldest part of the year.
The Moon’s orange, white, and blue appearances in the poster are artistic color treatments, not different physical types of Moon. In reality, the Moon can appear warmer or cooler depending on atmospheric conditions, especially when it is low above the horizon.
The December Full Moon is also notable because it is a Supermoon, meaning it occurs relatively close to the Moon’s closest approach to Earth in its orbit.
🌌 These traditional names are cultural and seasonal names—not official changes to the Moon itself. Every Full Moon is the same lunar body, illuminated from different viewing conditions.

Last night’s full moon was NOT the Beaver moon…
Full moons in September, October and November are named based on proximity to autumnal equinox. This is confusing since it changes every year!
Full moon closest to the equinox is *ALWAYS the Harvest moon, which happened on Oct. 6th, 2025.
Generally, if a moon happens before Sep. 8, it’s the Corn moon. After, Harvest.
Moon before Oct. 8? Harvest. After? Hunter’s!
Lastly, a moon before Nov. 8 is normally Hunter’s moon. Beaver moon only happens if it’s later in the month.
Sorry to the #BeaverMoon people!!! Essentially, it gets skipped in 2025 🌕 #space #weather #fullmoon #huntersmoon
🪐 As the air cools, the stars get brighter!
Here are 3 sky events happening in November:
1) 11/8: November’s Full Beaver Moon & Total Lunar Eclipse.
FA readers west of the Mississippi will have the best view.
Totality begins just after 2am Pacific Standard Time.
2) 11/18-19: Catch a shooting star!
The Leonid Meteor Shower reaches peak activity.
(These meteors emanate from the constellation Leo.)
Hundreds of meteors per hour may be visible!
Look northeast at 1am local time.
3) 11/28: Scope it out with Saturn.
Saturn hangs alongside a beautiful crescent Moon.
Look south-southwest at 6:30 pm local time.
Use a telescope to see Saturn now, while its rings are still wide open.

[🔗 IN BIO] The November supermoon, known as the Beaver Moon, will be the brightest and largest full moon of the year — and the biggest since 2019. 🌕🔭
💡 What's a Supermoon? It means the full moon is perfectly aligned with its closest point to Earth, known as perigee. This makes it look noticeably bigger and brighter than a standard Full Moon.
Why is this one special? It will be the closest full moon of the entire year—only 221,817 miles away! That's the nearest the Moon has been since February 2019. It hit 100% illumination just nine hours after its absolute closest point to us.

🌕 Three spectacular Full Moons are set to light up the night skies in the final months of 2026!
✨ September 26 — Harvest Moon: Traditionally associated with the harvest season, the Harvest Moon is known for its distinctive timing around the autumn equinox.
🏹 October 26 — Hunter’s Moon: Following the Harvest Moon, the Hunter’s Moon has a long-standing name connected with autumn hunting traditions and preparing for winter.
🦫 November 24 — Beaver Moon: The Beaver Moon is the traditional name commonly used for November’s Full Moon, linked to the time of year when beavers were historically active preparing for winter.
🌌 Together, these three Full Moons create a beautiful sequence of lunar events, offering skywatchers several opportunities to enjoy the Moon against a dark, star-filled sky.
📅 Save these dates and look up after sunset to experience the beauty of our nearest celestial neighbor!

November's Full Beaver Moon reaches peak illumination on Wednesday, November 5, at 8:19 a.m. EST. However, it will be below the horizon at that time, so be sure to look for it beginning this evening, on November 4. It will appear full and big and bright for a day or two! 🌕️
November’s Full Beaver Moon is also a SUPERMOON! 🌕️ It orbits closer to Earth than any of the other Full Moons this year, making it one of the three Supermoons of 2025. At its nearest point, the Beaver Moon will be 221,817 miles (356,980 kilometers) from Earth… this is the closest Supermoon of the year!
But why the “Beaver” Moon? 🦫 Well, this is the time of year when beavers begin to take shelter in their lodges, having laid up sufficient food stores for the long winter ahead. During the fur trade in North America, it was also the season to trap beavers for their thick, winter-ready pelts. Read more! Almanac.com/Moon-November or at the link in bio.

Apa Itu Supermoon?
