A few people commented that they could walk faster than this pace. Which made me wonder… at what pace does a run actually become a walk? #slowrunner #jeffing #beginnerrunner #couchto5k #runnergirl
✨ I couldn’t run for longer that 60 seconds without stopping, I literally felt like my lungs were burning and I was gonna be sick. Fast forward 4 weeks I could run for 5 minutes without stopping! Then another 4 weeks later I could run 20 mins without stopping. Unlike some people who can do couch to 5k in 12 weeks it took me longer, I had some weeks where I couldn’t commit to 3 runs a week and I’d end up repeating my previous weeks runs. Then as soon as I did my first 5k I knew I could do it again and again and again, until I was using @runna to go further and further. I still haven’t reached my 10k goal but I know perseverance from day 1 not been able to run for 1 minute to where I am now, I will achieve it! Not everyone is amazing at running. But how it makes you feel after is undesirable. Start today. Run for 60 seconds. So far I’ve only worn leggings. And all the real runners always wear shorts! What am I missing?! 🙈✨ #runnergirl #slowrunner #newbierunner #beginnerrunner
Keep it simple, Runnas ✨ We know running can seem daunting and difficult but we’re here to make it as easy and smooth as possible. We asked Coach @kaylajeter_ for 5 things she wish she knew at the start of her journey. What is something you wish you had known? 🧡 #strava #runna #beginnerrunner #runningtips #stunnacoaching
This is one of the biggest reasons running feels harder than it should #runningtips #runningform #womenfitness ##beginnerrunner
10 signs here ⬇️ 10 signs you’re no longer a beginner runner (even if you don’t feel ready to say it yet) Let’s see how many you can tick off. 👇 1️⃣ You don’t need a mental buildup anymore No pep talk. No countdown. You lace up and go. Running stopped being an event and became normal. 2️⃣ You know the difference between tired and injured Discomfort doesn’t scare you anymore. Sharp pain still does. Listen.. That awareness alone keeps a lot of runners going. 3️⃣ Bad runs don’t make you quit Awkward rhythm. Heavy legs. Weird breathing. You don’t stop. You adjust and keep moving. 📲 Follow @amangofit If you’re currently training for big goals. I provide helpful information to help you improve and recognize your progress. 4️⃣ You can explain why a run felt hard Not “I’m bad at running.” But sleep, pace, fuel, stress, recovery. That shift is real progress. 5️⃣ Weather stopped deciding if you run You check it to prepare, not to negotiate. Cold, wind, rain just change the plan - not the habit. 6️⃣ Easy runs quietly get longer No forcing. No chasing distance. You just don’t feel the urge to stop as early anymore. 7️⃣ You realize the challenge isn’t getting stronger anymore - it’s holding back Your body can go harder now. Your lungs don’t panic. Your legs don’t scream immediately. So the real work becomes restraint, not effort. 8️⃣ You start fitting life around your runs Not squeezing them in last minute. Your run gets a place in the day. Everything else adjusts around it. 9️⃣ You know recovery matters - even if you’re sometimes still bad at it You notice when skipping rest backfires. You’re learning that doing less sometimes keeps you running more. 🔟 You catch yourself saying “it’s just an easy 5K” And immediately remember when that felt impossible. When I started I could not run. Now I’m training for a half marathon while running 250km. Follow along if your goals include half marathon or full marathon in 2026. ➡️ what was your score? Share this with someone who’s running consistently but still doubts themselves. ✅ #runnersofinstagram #beginnerrunner #5ktraining #runningjourney #runner

Running didn’t make her gain weight. Her fueling strategy did. I see this ALL the time. Women go from lifting to running more but keep eating the same way. High protein, lower carbs and not much thought around fueling before, during, or after runs. 💥And that’s where things start to feel off. Because running — especially longer runs — massively increases your need for carbohydrates. That fuel gets stored as glycogen in your muscles. And here’s the part most people don’t know about: when we store carbs as glycogen, we retain more water. So more training + more glycogen = more water retention Add in: → under-fueling → poor recovery → higher overall stress and now your body is holding even MORE water. So you feel heavier, puffier, and softer, and assume it's fat. But most of the time it’s not. Now layer in this piece: If you’re not fueling your runs properly — especially carbs before or during longer sessions — your body will absolutely try to make up for it later. That “I just want to eat everything” feeling? That’s your body trying to catch up because you didn’t eat enough around your runs. And yes — it’s a lot easier to eat 1000 calories than it is to burn 1000 calories. So if your mindset becomes: “I ran, so I can eat whatever I want,” you can very easily overshoot what your body actually needs. When people stop running and lose weight it’s usually because their: • appetite drops • total stress drops • intake becomes easier to manage 🔥The takeaway: Running doesn’t make you gain fat. A mismatch between your training, fueling, and recovery does. If you actually fuel your runs properly — especially your carbs — everything changes: → better energy → better recovery → less extreme hunger → better performance → and a body that responds the way you expect it to 💬 Comment RUN if you want help figuring out how to fuel your training without feeling like your body is working against you #beginnerrunner #halfmarathontraining #hybridtraining #fatloss sportsperformance
