Understanding and mastering color theory is a learned skill, y’all. And no, one TikTok won’t cure your indecision or help you pick the right color. I’ve been designing for a decade and picking paint colors is still the bane of my existence. Because it’s always perceived as so easy, yet TO THIS DAY it still overwhelms so many people. -Benjamin Moore has 3,500+ colors -Sherwin Williams has 1,700+ colors (apparently over 35,000 named colors in their database) I don’t care what the “best” whites are because it doesn’t matter, no two projects have the same exact conditions. Lighting is the biggest factor & it’s talked about constantly but there are many others like: -the greenery outside of your windows -existing color on the walls -the other colors in the room So we always start with color direction and bring a few variations onsite to nail down the perfect color tone for YOUR home.⚡️

Laid down some high-build primer throughout this entire primary suite—bedroom, bathroom, closets, doors, and ceilings. Next week we’ll sand everything with the Mirka, spot-check for any touch-ups, and then colour drench the entire space in Fine Paints of Europe Eurolux Matte, colour-matched to Benjamin Moore Inspired (AF-595). Looking forward to sharing the finished transformation. 💜

Need the perfect GREEN exterior color!? 👇I GOT YOU. Color is Muddled Basil by Sherwin Williams but we had it mixed in Benjamin Moore’s Arborcoat solid color stain. First we primed the old cedar siding using a dark tinted Arborcoat oil primer. Lucky for me, my husband is a professional painter of 15 years! 🍀 ALWAYS get samples first and paint them on many different areas of your exterior and look at them during different times of day. This color can read brown at times and also a lighter green based on the sun and time of day. Even after 4 years I would choose this color again! 😍

White interior paint is truly timeless but this tip will save you the stress and even the $$$ of trying to find the perfect shade. Color drench. Always. When you color drench you eliminate two colors competing against each other. Aka those builder grade white baseboards and flat bright white ceiling making White Dove look like light yellow butter. The only thing that will change is the finish. Velvet/eggshell or satin on walls, baseboards, doors and trim (or semi-gloss on trim and doors if you are worried about scuffs) Flat on the ceiling. One color. Top to bottom. Here are MY personal top 5 crisp creamy whites: 1. Alabaster by Sherwin Williams 2. White Dove by Benjamin Moore 3. Swiss Coffee by Benjamin Moore 4. Chantilly Lace by Benjamin Moore 5. I turned an unused storage room into a cozy home office using peel and stick wall molding. No drill needed!✨ A few tips if you’re planning to try it: • Measure your wall first and choose the molding size that works best for your space. Plan the spacing before you start so everything looks even. • Mark your layout and use a level for both the horizontal and vertical pieces. Getting the first few pieces perfectly straight makes the rest of the installation much easier. • I highly recommend caulking every edge before painting. Even with peel and stick molding, small gaps can show between the wall and the molding. Caulking creates a smooth, seamless finish and gives it a more custom built in look. 🎨 Paint color: Baby Fawn(OC-15) by Benjamin Moore This is just the beginning!
