If you saw my stories, you read it right! Benlu will be closing after wedding season 2023. Sadly a hobby I once loved, turned full time job, just isn’t whats best for me anymore. When I quit my corporate job back in June 2022, my thought was “I’ll give this a try, and if it doesn’t work out, a least I gave it my whole heart.” And I did. I truly, honestly did. Things shifted for me really fast in late August of the same year, a mere 2 months into this as my full time gig, when my mom had her accident. Priorities changed, and my mindset shifted. But more than that, the parts I loved about baking started to become a nuisance. I wasn’t baking for me anymore, and the hustle culture just wasn’t how I wanted to function either. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got orders galore, I’m booked constantly and my inbox is full the minute I’m finally caught up… the bakery is truly THRIVING, but small business ownership just isn’t for me and I’m ok with that. To everyone who supported me, who ordered from me, who spread the word and who truly made this an amazing experience, thank you. I couldn’t know where I would go without you ❤️ I’ll never forget how you let me into your life. To my couples this wedding season and the orders beyond, I’m still 100% dedicated to you. I’m taking on the things I really want to and I can’t wait to make your day special! If you want to continue following me, get baking tips & wedding season navigation stuff, I post about that along with things in my life from clothes to hanging out with my friends & husband - I welcome you to my personal page over on @smallcitybaker 🤗
