Even as so much is going on in the world—we want to continue to share the stories of joy, resilience, and service that make our communities who we are. Today we’re sharing the story of Frank’s in Bernalillo—the iconic feed store that has been serving the community for more than three generations!
Since 1967, and dating back into the 1930s, Frank’s has been a staple in the community. Here is their story and how the Chavez-Garcia family continues to serve the community today. It’s one of my favorite places to stop, whether you’re looking for hay, chickens, a goat or two, or your favorite NM foods, it’s also where I like to get my beans! Here’s why. ❤️

The search for an active shooter continues in Bernalillo as the situation has delayed school and disrupted train transportation service to Santa Fe
Everything we know in bio link
On April 28, a hiker came across a deceased male near a stream on the La Luz Trail.
North Swing deputies responded with Bernalillo County Fire Rescue and confirmed the individual was deceased. BCSO Open Space was then requested to assist with recovery alongside our Homicide Unit, the Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI), and APD Open Space.
This was a technical recovery. Crews moved a short distance using rope systems, then carefully placed the individual into a wheeled basket and guided him through narrow, rocky terrain back to the roadway.
At this time, foul play is not suspected and there were no obvious signs of trauma. OMI will conduct a thorough autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
We want to recognize the professionalism and teamwork shown by everyone involved. These are the calls that are never easy, but our job is to bring people home with care, dignity, and respect.
I want y’all to stay safe if you’re around the Bosque.

If you’ve driven through the South Valley lately, you’ve probably hit construction 👀
Here’s what’s actually happening:
✔️ Bernalillo County is working on a real, active project at Bridge & Cortez focused on traffic flow + pedestrian safety
✔️ Meanwhile, NMDOT is planning a major I-25 / Gibson interchange overhaul near the Sunport—but that’s still a couple years out (likely 2027 start)
Two different projects. Same goal:
👉 safer streets and better traffic flow across Albuquerque.
This is the kind of stuff that quietly impacts your daily drive and property values over time.
What do you think—needed upgrade or just more cones? 🤔
