Demo of the Berneron Annual Calendar, listen for that ‘tack’ sound. At the end of every month, it makes a ‘quintuple jump,’ when every function instantaneously jumps at the same time. Requires lots of power, you can even hear the ‘tack’ in this video. Wrist shot of how the case wears at the end of this video too.
The Berneron Quaniteme Annuel is the second collection from Sylvain Berneron’s brand, a total departure from the Mirage. Complicated, symmetrical display and movement, with time telling that is logical read top-down and left-right. A bit of Lange, a bit of Patek, but totally Berneron imo. The case is 38x10mm and has to be one of the best wearing calendar watches around, with a clever steel layer that covers the precious metal case’s high-contact points (I’ve seen some call it a steel condom which is kinda funny). He was showing working prototypes (like this one) in Geneva a couple of weeks ago, excited to see full-production watches later this year. The calendar function is also dummy proof and can be rolled forward and backwards.

Auro Montanari, knows as @goldberger, an internationally renowned collector and the Inspiring Mind of TIME ON SHOW, shares his story along with a new entry that is generating a lot of hype.
Its waiting list is rumored to be 3 years long, and the hype keeps growing.
Berneron Mirage: a dazzling debut in the world of haute horlogerie.
Berneron, the new star in the haute horlogerie sky, made a memorable entrance into the market with the Mirage collection.
This Swiss brand, based in the heart of the watchmaking region of Neuchâtel and founded by Sylvain Berneron (designer for Breitling), has caught the attention of enthusiasts with its artisanal approach and unmistakable aesthetic vision.
The Mirage: a dream of precision
The name Mirage represents the materialization of all the professional “no’s” the founder received in the past, evoking an illusion, an apparition that fascinates and seduces.
This is precisely what Berneron set out to create: a watch that, although tangible and real, conveys a sense of lightness and dreamlike quality through its curves. The minimalist and refined design, characterized by pure lines and smooth surfaces, invites contemplation of the passing of time.

Maybe the 2036 waitlist was dramatic 😅 but let’s be honest, Sylvain Berneron isn’t something you’re just casually picking up.

What would a watch look like if it were designed without a single straight line?
The Berneron Mirage is built around exactly that idea. There are no perfect geometries or rigid symmetries here: the case follows a soft, organic shape, almost as if it had been sculpted by hand.
But the most interesting part is that the design starts with the movement. The calibre was created to follow these curves, rather than fitting a traditional movement into an unconventional case.
A rare approach in contemporary watchmaking. What do you think?

The Berneron Quantième Annuel 👌🏼
My dad picked up my 4 year old daughter from school today and they came to say hello at work. They arrived exactly when Ferrari Logistics dropped off my newest watch… So, we have decided spontaneously to record this unboxing. If the camera is a bit shaky, my daughter apologizes as she recorded it 😍
#NewWatchAlert 🚨 The wait was loooong. The wait was real. The wait was worth it! I remember vividly seeing the prototype for the first time with a paper dial over 2 - 3 years ago (don’t even remember how long ago). I did not immediately fell in love, I actually fell of my seat. That is how much this blew my mind and there and then I knew I wanted one. I am very grateful to have been able to be eligible to have one. Huge congrats to Marie-Alix, Sylvain & Team Berneron. Very proud of you guys and never had a shred of doubt you would soar so high! Well deserved. 🙏🏼🤩

For a second there, I thought I was @mikenouveau standing outside Scarr’s Pizza @scarrspizza interviewing @misterenthusiast about his latest acquisition.
Thank you Phil for stopping by and sharing his @berneron Mirage 34mm Lapis Lazuli with me 🙏🏼

One of the highlights for me of Watches and Wonders 2026 week was getting the opportunity to sit down with Silvain Berneron.
The sit down didn’t feel like a formal presentation at all—it was more like a conversation where you slowly realize you’re listening to someone who thinks on a completely different level about watchmaking.
The way he explained his followup to the famed Mirage, which he calls the Quantième Annuel was effortless, but you could tell how much depth was behind it. Silvain poured 7 days a week into this watch and left it all on his work bench to create an annual calendar with 5 day power reserve while maintaining a legible, clean aesthetic.
The watch itself really reflects that mindset. At first glance it feels clean, but the more you look, the more you realize how much is going on. The central date display is intuitive, while the day and month windows are laid out in a way that feels different but still easy to read. Nothing feels crowded or forced. Even the small seconds and that oversized jump hour window are placed in a way that just works. It’s one of those designs that doesn’t try too hard, but ends up standing out because of how well everything flows in continuous harmony.
Hearing him walk through it in person completely changed how I saw the watch. It stopped being just another annual calendar and started feeling like a very personal project—something that came from real curiosity and a desire to do things differently. You don’t get that kind of perspective from photos alone. It made me appreciate not just the Quantième Annuel, but the process behind it—and honestly, experiences like that are what make this side of watchmaking so interesting.
Side note: the cherry on top is the officer caseback which protects the movement. A click of a button opens the caseback to reveal the beautiful ‘guts’ inside
