There’s something about stepping outside the therapy room and into nature that changes everything 🌿 After three days of training with @natureinformedtherapy , I feel refreshed, grounded, and really aligned with the work I’m here to do. It reminded me that healing isn’t just something we talk through. It’s something we experience through the body, through the breath, through being in connection with the earth. I’m excited to start offering nature informed sessions and bring this into the work in a deeper way 🤍 If you feel called to get outside and explore your process in this way, reach out to schedule 🌱

🌲Youth Forest Bathing: So grateful I got to be part of the second annual Wellness Day at Barrington Middle School, introducing these kids to what forest therapy is, why it’s good for your physical and mental health, and give them a taste of what it’s like to practice meditation and mindfulness in nature. This year I tried something a little different, a silent scavenger hunt. I had them draw a random invitation from the bag, wander off, and do what it says on the paper. When I called them back, we shared some apple cider or lemonade, and I explained that this represented the one sense we didn’t engage with yet, our sense of taste. I talked about honoring the indigenous people who stewarded this land before us. I offered them flower petals to sprinkle as we exited the woods as reciprocity, a way to give back and silent thank you. What was beautiful is watching multiple groups drawn to this hole in the tree where they placed their petals.🥹 #rootinginnature #barringtonmiddleschool #foresttherapy #shinrinyoku #forestbathingnh
Tomorrow’s Forest Therapy Walk + Sacred Cacao Ceremony is shaping up to be a beautiful one. I was out on the land in lower West Milford checking the trails (something I always do the day before) and the forest is alive with that magical late-winter-to-early-spring shift. Melting snow, rushing water, and that subtle sense that the earth is waking up again. We’ll gather tomorrow at 9:30 AM to slow down, breathe deeply, and simply notice the beauty of the changing season together. A few spots are still open if you’d like to join us and start your Saturday morning surrounded by sunshine and the quiet wisdom of the woods.
