Black birds are ubiquitous. How can I know if this is really a sign we are supposed to receive from her? I don’t really know the answer, but I know the symbolism brings me a lot of peace. When shame and the sorrow consume me#, that symbol of freedom fills me with comfort. She is free from a mind that imprisoned her. Free from incessant masking. Free from shame. I share this for anyone else going through loss by suicide. They can finally start healing in the arms of Jesus. It often seems at my heaviest moments these reminders come to me in such a BIG way. She’s more than her ending. I’m going to admit that I’m sobbing as I’m writing these words (that I know no one reads it’s more for my own record keeping 😂) - I don’t want to ever let her go. I’m so grateful for these little symbols and reminders that strengthen my conviction of where she is and Who is holding her. #blackbird #signs #suicide

Does the process feel the pressure too!? 🫣🫠 ~ It felt awful carving away my sweet Blackbird, BUT, that’s the nature of my process.. it’s brutal and irreversible and you have to hold your nerve! ~ Do you think it was worth it? ~ This is a handmade lino reduction print of a blackbird in the Pyracantha. He gobbled berries all winter long and I watched him from my window and loved every moment 🐦‍⬛ He was quite a big lad to begin with but now he is looking very round and there’s still plenty of berries left 🤷🏻‍♀️ ~ Original prints are available on my Etsy, link in bio - don’t forget to sign up to my print giveaway while you’re there!
