August 29 and 30, 1989, Metallica’s Damaged Justice Tour at Seattle Center Coliseum captured one of the greatest concerts in the band’s history. With James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett, and Jason Newsted at the height of their late 1980s era, the band delivered a relentless set featuring “Blackened,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Master of Puppets,” “One,” “Creeping Death,” “Battery,” and “Whiplash.” The performances were filmed and later released as the Seattle ’89 portion of Live Shit: Binge & Purge, preserving the raw energy, aggression, and stage presence that defined Metallica during the Damaged Justice era. Decades later, Seattle ’89 remains one of the definitive live documents of Metallica at their most intense, capturing the band before the massive changes of the 1990s and at a point when their live performances were already legendary. Sharing the lineup with French acts Worst, Blackened and Pledge of Silence, the band brought Indian thrash metal to one of the world’s largest public celebrations of live music. Formed in 2012 in Alappuzha, Amorphia is among India’s longest running old school thrash metal bands. Influenced by pioneers of the genre, the band has previously toured Japan twice, including appearances at True Thrash Fest, continuing to represent India’s underground metal scene on international stages.
