Today I’m surrounded by some of the most incredible women I know. 🩷
It’s International Women’s Day and I just want to say - the women in my life keep me grounded, challenged, loved, and SEEN.🩷
We push each other. We pray for each other. We build together.
And that support system? It’s everything.
This also marks the final day of Black Mental Health Week. Tonight we wrapped the last showing of Pastor @colleentaffe powerful play “Piece of Mind” - a raw, necessary conversation about mental health in the Black community, in the Black church and for Black men especially.
If you’re carrying something heavy right now…
If you’ve been told to just “pray it away”…
If you’ve been suffering in silence…
PLEASE. Reach out to someone you trust. Talk to a professional. Therapy is not weakness. Medication is not failure. Getting help is not giving up.
You are worthy of healing. And you don’t have to do it alone. 🤍
Happy International Women’s Day to every woman building, healing, leading, and loving out loud. I see YOU. 🫶🏾

Black women are often the most reliable person in every room - the one people lean on, call first, depend on…but being needed isn’t the same as being emotionally supported. And you can be deeply loved… yet still feel alone 🤍
If you’re always the “strong friend,” the low-maintenance daughter, the dependable professional, where do YOU go when it’s heavy?
Therapy offers Black women a space where you don’t have to perform strength, leadership, or resilience. You don’t have to hold it together. You don’t have to fix anyone. You get to show up as a full human being - with needs, feelings, and limits.
And that shift? It’s powerful. 🙌🏾✨💖
At @esteemcounselingservicesllc , we support Black women across Maryland, DC, and Virginia navigating emotional isolation, anxiety, burnout, and generational trauma. You deserve support that feels safe, culturally aware, and restorative! 💛

Black Women, reclaim your mental health. ✨
#therapy #mentalhealth #blackwomen
Black women are often taught one thing growing up:
“Be strong.”
Be the one everyone depends on.
Be the one who fixes everything.
Be the one who never breaks.
But constantly being the superhero can come at a cost. 🦸🏽♀️
Mental exhaustion.
Burnout.
Broken relationships.
Because the truth is… you are not meant to be everything for everyone.
And sometimes the strongest thing a woman can do is step back and ask:
Real strength isn’t doing everything for everyone.
A woman of strength empowers others, sets boundaries, and honors her own humanity.

To everyone expecting you to be strong—who’s there when you need support? 🌸 Sisterhood Bloom is a safe space for Black women to heal, grow, and thrive together. You don’t have to do it alone. Let’s lift each other up. 💪🏾✨ #Sisterhood #BlackWomenHealing #SupportAndStrength
As black women heal, we begin noticing patterns we once ignored.
Who only calls when they need something.
Who dismisses our feelings.
Who benefits from our silence.
Healing sharpens your awareness.
And once you see certain behaviors clearly...you can't unsee them.
Pay attention to patterns.
Consistency reveals people's true intentions.
Protect yourself accordingly.
Awareness is part of healing.

Black women, let’s make it a priority to sit down and celebrate ourselves!
Find a cozy spot and reflect on how far you’ve come.
Share space with your sisters, uplift each other.
✨
Remember, together we’re stronger, and rest is part of the journey!

Black women are the backbone of our families — but strength does not mean silence.
We carry generations of stories, trauma, resilience, and love. In Canada and across North America, Black women face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and burnout silence.
