Come with me to Blue’s Kitchen in Brixton (They have other branches as well). 📍 40 Acre Ln, London SW2 5SP I was curious trying out this place as I would often hear mixed reviews! However, I am happy that I followed my mind to try it out because I enjoyed it. Blue’s Kitchen is an Southern BBQ restaurant, which plays different genres of music including, Blues, Jazz, Rock & Roll, Soul, and Motown. Although, it is not black owned, it is definitely black influenced. The food was lovely and affordable, I love the portion sizes, and the customer service was spectacular (excluding the greeter). Thank you, Richard for serving us 💕 The order: Popcorn Squid - £9.75 Cheeseburger Spring Rolls - £7.50 Bacon Cheeseburger with fries (without the bacon because mi nuh touch pork) - £13.50 Shrimp Po Boy with fries - £14.50 Deep Fried Oreo Doughnuts - £7.25 Overall, I would give it a 8/10 If you are looking for good Southern food spot with the Blues, Jazz, Soul, and Motown vibes then check them out. Our favourite was the decadent brisket sandwich with bacon gravy for dipping on the side. The brisket was tender and fell apart easily. The deep smokiness of the meat was balanced nicely by the sweet onions and the tangy kick of the mustard mayo. Tying it altogether was the rich, decadent bacon gravy 💕 . . A few other dishes could definitely use some improvements (saucier ribs or more flavourful corn, for example) but the vibrant and buzzing atmosphere on a Friday night more than made up for this. Blues Kitchen is perfect for a fun date night or for a big group of friends; lots of birthdays being celebrated there! . . Lastly: they’re now doing bottomless wings for just £12pp on Sundays.
