When creating the global phenomenon Bluey the animation team made a brilliant decision that completely changed who could watch the show. Since the main characters are a family of Heeler dogs the creators intentionally designed the entire visual palette using colors that real life dogs can actually see. Dogs have a specific type of vision that only allows them to process shades of blue and yellow clearly. This incredible attention to detail means your actual pet dog can sit on the couch and watch the cartoon right alongside you. The realism of Bluey goes far beyond just its clever color scheme. The creator Joe Brumm bases almost every single episode on the exact situations he experienced while raising his own two daughters.
